  • Patent number: 10706672
Abstract: A method of generating crash reports by an electronic gaming machine includes detecting an error condition during operation of a wagering game on the EGM, wherein the error condition affects operation of a wagering game executed on the EGM. In response to detecting the error condition, the EGM (a) generates a crash data file comprising data related to the error condition; (b) generates a screenshot of a screen displayed on the display screen at or near a time the error condition was detected; and (c) transmits the crash data file and the screenshot to a central server using a secure communications network to which the EGM and the central server are connected.

  • Patent number: 10096203
Abstract: In one aspect, there is described a computer-implemented method of configuring timeout values for an electronic gaming system. The electronic gaming system includes an electronic gaming machine and a first host coupled to the electronic gaming machine through a network. The method includes: receiving a command to initiate timeout calibration through an input interface associated with the electronic gaming system; and in response to receiving the command: i) sending a plurality of test messages between the electronic gaming machine and the first host; ii) determining transmission times for the test messages; iii) based on the determined transmission times, automatically determining one or more timeout values; and iv) configuring one or both of the electronic gaming machine and the first host based on the determined timeout values.

  • Publication number: 20130184061
Abstract: An electronic gaming machine (EGM) or game computer for on-line gaming receives a player's unique ID. The host system then detects a stored status level of the player and communicates the status level to the game computer. The status level may be determined by a survey answered by the player identifying self-impose loss limits. The game computer then presents a plurality of games available to the player based on the status level of the player, there being different sets of games presented to the player depending on the player's status level. Games associated with a higher status level may be more complex and/or have higher possible wagering limits. The player selects and plays one of the games. Over time, the host system accumulates information about the player's performance and imposes the loss limits and/or gaming time limits.
