  • Patent number: 8796900
Abstract: An electric motor has a stator, a rotor and brush gear. The rotor includes a shaft, a rotor core fixed to the shaft, a commutator fixed to the shaft, and rotor windings wound on the rotor core and electrically connected to the commutator. The brush gear includes at least two arcuate brushes for making sliding contact with the commutator. The commutator and brush gear are disposed within a space formed in the rotor core to minimize the axial length of the motor.
