    Abstract: The present invention provides a novel lipid-polymer hybrid nanoparticle (LPHN) biochip. The LPHN biochip comprises a gold coating substrate with a surface layer on the gold coating and a nanoparticle, wherein the nanoparticle anchors on the surface layer and encapsulates labeling moieties which comprise molecular beacons (MB), Toehold-initiated molecular beacons (Ti-MB), biomolecules or components for performing catalyzed hairpin DNA circuit (CHDC), and quantum dots. A method of detecting the presence of a disease or condition in a subject by the lipid-polymer hybrid nanoparticle biochip is also disclosed in the specification.
