  • Patent number: 8705352
Abstract: Prioritized random access methods are proposed. According to an embodiment, random access attempts are classified into the priority levels according to delay requirements, and adedicated random access opportunities are reserved for different priority levels. A congestion detecting mechanism is introduced for such dedicated ranging (random access) opportunities. When congestion is detected by the base station, parameters or configurations of random access can be dynamically or temporarily modified through random access response message. Furthermore, a prioritized contention resolution is introduced to guarantee a high priority access is processed earlier than a low priority access. According to another embodiment, another prioritized contention resolution is introduced to reduce the impact of random access of a low priority M2M device upon H2H traffic.

  • Patent number: 8675540
Abstract: A resource allocation method and a resource indication method for E-MBS system, and a mobile station using the same are proposed. The resource units of a first service flow are allocated following the end of the E-MBS MAP of the E-MBS region, along with the increasing of frequency domain index. When the edge of the E-MBS region in frequency domain is reached, the resource units of mth service flow are continued to be allocated from top frequency domain index in next time domain index, where m is an integer greater than or equal to 1. The resource units of m+1th service flow are allocated following the mth service flow, and such procedures are repeated until all service flows are allocated required resource units. The resource indication method indicates a specific service flow by absolute location in the E-MBS region formed based upon the resource allocation method.

  • Patent number: 8666427
Abstract: A method for mobile communication and a system thereof are provided. The system for mobile communication includes a main base station and a plurality of sub-communication devices. The sub-communication device is one of a sub-base station and a user equipment. The sub-base stations and the user equipments are located in the macrocell of the main base station. The method includes the following steps. First, locations of the sub-communication devices are obtained. Then, the sub-communication devices are grouped based on the locations of the sub-communication devices. And, an allocation of resource blocks is obtained according to the grouping results. The sub-communication devices receive the allocation of resource blocks for control signaling and data transmission. And, the usage of same resource blocks are enabled by the sub-base station allocated in the same resource blocks in response to receipt of the allocation.

  • Patent number: 8594713
Abstract: A carrier assignment method, a multi-carrier base station and a wireless communication device using the same are proposed. The carrier assignment method is adapted for assigning carriers in a paging group for an ABS with multi-carriers, and includes the following step. At least two paging carriers is assigned in a paging group, where all assigned carriers belonging to a paging group are in the same frequency band. Also, small but close frequency bands are grouped into a super band, where different carriers in different super bands are assigned into different paging groups. The wireless communication device determines the paging carrier index for itself by a mapping function of a mobile identification and the number of carriers. • Publication number: 20130288645
Abstract: The present disclosure proposes a method and apparatuses for geographical zone based radio resource management. The geographical zone based radio resource management method adapted for a control node would receive from a user equipment a request to communicate in a Device to Device (D2D) mode of communication. The control node would validate the user equipment according to a geographical zone in which the user equipment is located in response to the request of the user equipment to communicate in the D2D mode, wherein the geographical zone is formed by at least three control nodes. The control node would then notify the user equipment whether the user equipment may communicate in the D2D mode after the user equipment is authorized.

  • Patent number: 8520753
Abstract: A transmitter for transmitting signals to a receiver is provided. The transmitter generates a padded code sequence comprising a plurality of symbols. The padded sequence is generated by padding the first symbol to the end of a code sequence. The padding method can be applied to Zadoff-Chu code, generalized chirp like code, CAZAC sequence to acquire extra code property, e.g. orthogonal in terms of differential detection. The padded code sequence can be allocated on sub-carriers of an OFDM symbol in frequency domain in increasing or decreasing order to resist linear phase shift due to time domain delay. If multiple OFDM symbols are used, the padded code sequence may be divided into multiple sections and each section may be padded in the same padding manner. Latter on, the transmitter transmits the padded code sequence to a receiver via an air interface. Upon receiving the padded code sequence via the air interface, the receiver may detect the padded sequence according to its structure, e.g.
