    Abstract: The present disclosure provides a method implemented in an MCE for performing downlink power control for a multicast or broadcast service which is collectively provided from a number of radio base stations to a number of terminal devices. The method comprises collecting path-loss attenuations between the radio base stations and all or a subset of the terminal devices. The method further comprises calculating transmission powers for the radio base stations based on the collected path-loss attenuations, such that a sum of the transmission powers is minimized under a set of constraints on reception powers at said all or said subset of the terminal devices. Each of the radio base stations is notified of a corresponding one of the calculated transmission powers. The present disclosure also provides an MCE for performing downlink power control for a multicast or broadcast service.

The method also comprises determining, based upon the plink traffic status, a bias value for a measured quality indicator of a down link received signal with respect to the user equipment. In addition, the method comprises performing the cell selection based upon the bias value and the measured quality indicator. With the present invention, a proper cell could be selected and thus both peak DL and UL throughput can be improved in the heterogeneous network.

    Abstract: A radio base station and a method therein are provided for determining where in a cell a UE, being served by the radio base station, is located. The method includes receiving at least a first and subsequently a second Reference Signal Received Power (RSRP) value from the UE, and comparing the received first and second RSRP values. The method further includes selecting a first threshold value based on the comparison indicating increasing RSRP values corresponding to the UE moving towards a cell-center area, or selecting a second threshold value based on the comparison indicating decreasing RSRP values corresponding to the UE moving towards a cell-edge area. Further, the method includes determining whether the UE is located in the cell-center area or the cell-edge area using the selected threshold value.

The method comprises: calculating the PMI correlations between a first UE being served by the AP and each of a plurality of candidate UEs to be allocated resources by using the latest PMIs reported by the respective UEs, wherein the PMI correlation is indicated by the phase difference between the first UE and a candidate UE, and the plurality of candidate UEs are within the coverage of the AP; prioritizing the plurality of candidate UEs to be allocated resources in accordance with the calculated PMI correlations; selecting one or more second UEs from the plurality of candidate UEs based on the priority of the plurality of candidate UEs; and allocating resources to the one or more second UEs so as to serve them subsequently.
