In response to an emergency condition, the stored evacuation information is retrieved and then multicasted to mobile communication devices on a common Internet Protocol (IP) address over a wireless network.

    Abstract: A cobalt-based nano catalyst including a metal combination as a core and a porous material as a shell. The metal combination includes a first metal component Co, a second metal component selected from Ce, La, and Zr, and a third metal component selected from Pt, Ru, Rh, and Re. The catalyst includes between 10 and 35 wt. % of the first metal component, between 0.5 and 10 wt. % of the second metal component, between 0.02 and 2 wt. % of the third metal component, and a carrier. The carrier is a porous material such as nano silica or alumina. The carrier is in the shape of a spheroid, has a pore size of between 1 and 20 nm and a specific area of between 300 and 500 m2/g. The active component of the catalyst has a particle size of between 0.5 and 20 nm.

    Abstract: The present invention provides methods for making improved zeolite and crystalline silicoaluminophosphate (SAPO) membranes, in particular SAPO-34 membranes, on a porous support through improved removal of the organic structure-directing templating agent. A calcining step is performed in an oxygen free atmosphere, such as under a vacuum or inert gas, to remove the organic templating agent. By removing the templating agent in the absence of oxygen, the calcination step can remove a greater amount of the templating agent than comparable template removal steps conducted in the presence of oxygen and the calcination step can be conducted at significantly lower temperatures. The membranes of the present invention provide increased permeance while maintaining comparable selectivity for gas separations, particularly carbon dioxide (CO2) and methane (CH4) separations and separations at high temperatures.

    Abstract: A method for collecting carbon dioxide from flue gas. The method includes: 1) mixing an aqueous solution of sodium carbonate with an amino alcohol activator to yield a CO2 absorbent; spraying the CO2 absorbent into the flue gas to produce a sodium bicarbonate slurry; 2) thermally decomposing the sodium bicarbonate slurry to produce a highly concentrated CO2 gas and an aqueous solution of sodium carbonate; 3) returning the aqueous solution of sodium carbonate to step 1) to form the CO2 absorbent for recycling; 4) cooling the highly concentrated CO2 gas for condensing hot water vapor therein; 5) carrying out gas-liquid separation on the highly concentrated CO2 gas, removing condensed water to yield highly purified CO2 gas; and 6) drying, compressing, and condensing the highly purified CO2 gas. An apparatus for collecting carbon dioxide from flue gas according to the method is also provided.

Each access point (AP) in a wireless local area network is provided with a primary interface and a secondary interface wherein the primary interface performs normal communication with user terminals and broadcasts standard beacon frames on its working channel, and the secondary interface broadcasts extended beacon frames on working channels of neighbor APs sequentially. The extended beacon frame includes at least information of BSSID, SSID, working channel and the like of the primary interface of the corresponding AP. The user terminal may receive the standard beacons from the serving AP it is communicating with and the extended beacons from the neighbor APs, and according to the two kinds of beacons, the terminal may calculate the signal quality with the primary interface of the serving AP and the signal qualities with the neighbor APs at the current position.

    Abstract: A method for is disclosed for fabricating diluted magnetic semiconductor (DMS) nanowires by providing a catalyst-coated substrate and subjecting at least a portion of the substrate to a semiconductor, and dopant via chloride-based vapor transport to synthesize the nanowires. Using this novel chloride-based chemical vapor transport process, single crystalline diluted magnetic semiconductor nanowires Ga1-xMnxN (x=0.07) were synthesized. The nanowires, which have diameters of ˜10 nm to 100 nm and lengths of up to tens of micrometers, show ferromagnetism with Curie temperature above room temperature, and magnetoresistance up to 250 Kelvin.
