    Abstract: Embodiments of methods for forming three-dimensional (3D) memory devices are disclosed. In an example, a peripheral device is formed on a first substrate. A first interconnect layer is formed above the peripheral device on the first substrate. A dielectric stack including a plurality of dielectric/sacrificial layer pairs and a plurality of memory strings each extending vertically through the dielectric stack is formed on a second substrate. A second interconnect layer is formed above the memory strings on the second substrate. The first substrate and the second substrate are bonded, so that the first interconnect layer is below and in contact with the second interconnect layer. The second substrate is thinned after the bonding. A memory stack is formed below the thinned second substrate and including a plurality of conductor/dielectric layer pairs by replacing, with a plurality of conductor layers, sacrificial layers in the dielectric/sacrificial layer pairs.

    Abstract: An assisted opening knife includes a handle with a pushing key for releasing and locking a blade. The blade is pivotally connected to the handle and has near its rear end a position-limiting post extending into an arcuate position-limiting groove in, and near the front end of, the handle. The assisted opening knife is characterized by the handle having therein a releasing/locking slide plate whose top side is provided with the pushing key and whose front end, a releasing/locking arm movable to a position near one end of the arcuate position-limiting groove. While the blade is stored in the handle, the position-limiting post touches the aforesaid end of the arcuate position-limiting groove and is locked by the releasing/locking arm to prevent the blade from rotation. The blade is rotatable again when the pushing key, exposed from the handle, is pushed and moves the releasing/locking arm away from the aforesaid position.

    Abstract: A folding knife configured for precise and rapid disassembly and reassembly includes two pivotally connecting and engaging shafts fixedly provided on a first- and a second-side handle portion respectively. The shafts are pivotally connectable and mutually engageable so that the handle portions and a blade can be rapidly and precisely put together, allowing the blade to rotate with respect to the handle portions about an axis defined by the shafts either into or out of the space between the handle portions. The folding knife further includes two locking members provided on the handle portions respectively. The locking members can be locked together to connect the blade to the handle portions securely. By pushing one of the locking members, the locking members can be unlocked from each other to enable disengagement between the shafts and hence rapid and complete separation between the blade and the handle portions.

    Abstract: A glass smasher with a rapidly removable protective cover is mounted at one end of a portable object. When a user holds the portable object and presses the front end (i.e., the smashing cone) of the smashing rod of the glass smasher forcibly against a to-be-smashed glass obstacle, the rear section of the smashing rod will be struck such that the smashing cone is instantly driven to smash the glass obstacle. The protective cover can be mounted around the front end of the glass smasher to store the entire smashing cone in the protective cover. When the protective cover is not pulled, the sliding sleeve of the protective cover is pushed by a packing spring and hence pushes a plurality of engaging elements into engagement in the engaging groove of the glass smasher, thereby preventing the protective cover from inadvertent detachment from the front end of the glass smasher.

    Abstract: A backside illuminated CMOS image sensor and a method of fabricating the sensor are disclosed. The backside illuminated CMOS image sensor includes a first substrate and a second substrate. A plurality of pixel cells are formed in the front side of the first substrate, and a plurality of grooves are formed in the back side. Each of the grooves has at least one sidewall inclined with respect to the back surface of the first substrate. The second substrate is bonded to the first substrate on a side closer to the front side. A method for fabricating such a backside illuminated CMOS image sensor is also disclosed. The grooves formed in the back side of the first substrate can reduce reflection loss of light incident on the back surface and hence enhance quantum efficiency of the backside illuminated CMOS image sensor.

    Abstract: The present invention is to provide an expandable baton with a smasher at the front end of an inner rod thereof, wherein an impact groove, a tapered groove, an aligning groove, and a compression force application groove are sequentially formed in the smasher and the front end of the inner rod.
