Abstract: A mobile terminal and method provide an event user interface (UI) based on the execution status of the mobile terminal. The method for processing an event includes executing a first application of a mobile terminal, recognizing an event to be indicated via the mobile terminal, the event being associated with a second application of the mobile terminal, determining whether to configure an event user interface (UI) or to provide a default UI of the second application based on at least one of UI state information of the executed first application and setting information for configuring the event UI, and providing the event UI for indicating the event.
