Abstract: Managing metadata in a metadata transmission server by generating a plurality of metadata fragment data by partitioning metadata to be transmitted based upon predetermined segment units, selecting predetermined metadata fragment data from among the plurality of the metadata fragment data, generating metadata-related authentication information using the selected metadata fragment data, and transmitting the selected metadata fragment data and the metadata-related authentication information including data format information indicating type of the selected metadata fragment data. A metadata receiving client uses the transmitted metadata fragment data, the metadata-related authentication information and the metadata format type information to authenticate the received metadata.

The apparatus includes an image sensor generating a first image by applying different exposure times for units of different predetermined regions, an image separating unit separating the first image into images, each of which is composed of regions having an identical exposure time, an image restoring unit restoring the separated images in such a way that each of the separated images has a resolution that is the same as a resolution of the first image, and an image synthesizing unit synthesizing the restored images into a second image.

Abstract: The invention refers to a method for indicating the current status of a removable media device provided for being loaded with at least one removable medium, and being connected to a device reading and/or writing AV storage media. The method has the steps of checking the type of user input upon occurrence of user input, keeping the status of the removable media device if the type of user input is not related to the removable media device, else checking whether a characteristic feature of the at least one removable medium has changed, keeping the current status if the characteristic feature of the at least one removable medium has not changed, and else updating the status.

Abstract: A home domain building method and system that allow devices to join a home domain using smart cards. In the method, a master device reads device information from a smart card having a device ID and a device key as the device information of a guest device authenticated as a legal device and transmits a challenge request signal to the guest device, the guest device randomly generates a challenge value in response to the challenge request signal, the master device encrypts the challenge value using the device key of the guest device and transmits the encrypted challenge value to the guest device, the guest device decrypts the encrypted challenge value, and if the decrypted challenge value is the same as the challenge value generated in response to the challenge request signal, the guest device allows the master device to join the guest device in the home domain.

Abstract: A video stabilization method includes: measuring an inter-frame camera motion based on a difference angle of a relative camera view direction in comparison with a reference camera view direction in each frame of a frame sequence of a video; generating a camera motion path of the frame sequence by using the inter-frame camera motion and determining a camera view direction adjustment angle based on a user's view direction by using the camera motion path; and compensating for the camera view direction by using the camera view direction adjustment angle in each frame.

Abstract: Provided is a method of transmitting content processed according to first digital rights management (DRM) to a device that uses second DRM. The method includes generating a ticket using a first license server and a second license server, the first license server issuing a first license for use in the first DRM and the second license server issuing a second license for use in the second DRM; the second device obtaining a second content key required to process the content using the ticket and the second DRM; and the second device receiving the content from the first device and processing the content using the second content key and the second DRM. The ticket includes use control information that specifies a restriction of use of the content, and the second content key required to process the content using the second DRM.

Abstract: A method of and an apparatus for copying and decrypting encrypted digital data. The method of copying encrypted digital data includes encrypting a first media key block to be used for decryption of the encrypted digital data using a predetermined key of a second information storage medium and storing the encrypted digital data and the encrypted first media key block in the second information storage medium. Security of data encryption is heightened by not discarding an encryption key used for an initial encryption, encrypting the encryption key used for initial encryption using another encryption key used for a second encryption, and storing the encrypted encryption key with the data. Also, since unnecessary decryption and encryption of data are not repeated, the time required for copying data is reduced, and since data is transferred between apparatuses in an encrypted state, a security level is higher.

In a home network formed with control devices and a control point, the apparatus for reporting the operation state of digital rights management of the control device to the control point includes: a digital rights management (DRM) module which performs digital rights management; a state variable generation unit which receives DRM operation state information indicating the state of a DRM process currently operating, from the DRM module, and based on the received DRM state information, generates DRM state variables; and a universal plug and play (uPnP) module which by using a uPnP protocol, transmits the generated state variables to the control point.
