  • Publication number: 20090087422
Abstract: The present invention relates to pharmaceutical compositions for treating diseases and conditions caused by ischemia. The pharmaceutical compositions contain a conjugate of a phospholipase (PL) polypeptide and a protein transduction domain (PTD). PLC-? plays a major role in the regulation of cytosolic calcium levels. During myocardial ischemia, cytosolic calcium accumulation mediates pathogenic changes. According to the present invention, ischemic diseases or conditions leading to hypoxia in tissues, such as the heart and the brain, can be prevented or alleviated by administration of a PTD-PL conjugate.

  • Publication number: 20080208317
Abstract: Disclosed is a stent supporting device. The support device anchors a stent in a manner such that an anchoring stent is inserted into a branch blood vessel adjacent to an artery in which the stent is disposed, and the anchoring stent is connected to the stent. Accordingly, the support device is safe because it does not use subsidiary members such as screws, which can injure a blood vessel. Further, since the support device allows the stent to have a length corresponding to the size of a treatment site, that is, the stent does not need to be longer than the size of the treatment site, it is easy to install the stent.

  • Patent number: 7033788
Abstract: The present invention relates to Saxatilin, a protein derived from the venom of a Korean snake, Agkistrodon saxatilis emelianov, a process for preparing Saxatilin, and pharmaceutical application of the same as anti-platelet aggregation agent and anti-tumor agent. The present inventors purified Saxatilin from the venom of Agkistrodon saxatilis emelianov, cloned its cDNA, and prepared recombinant Saxatilin by culturing a microorganism transformed with an expression vector containing the cDNA. Saxatilin effectively suppresses the platelet aggregation and angiogenesis of tumor cells, which makes possible its practical application as an active ingredient of anti-platelet agent and anti-tumor agent.

  • Publication number: 20020115965
Abstract: Disclosed is a safety intravenous set in which a spherical ball is provided in a transparent barrel for confirming a flow of the Ringer's solution to easily float up due to its own buoyancy when the Ringer's solution is injected so that the Ringer's solution is facilely administered through a supplying tube, and also, when the administration of the Ringer's solution is completed, the spherical ball automatically blocks an outlet port so as to efficiently prevent a back flow of blood of the patient. The transparent barrier has a double-curbed structure at a lower portion thereof, and also has a hemispherical settling portion for easily floating up the spherical ball when the Ringer's solution is introduced into the transparent barrier.

  • Patent number: 6187035
Abstract: The present invention relates to a vascular stent comprising wide vertical branches and narrow horizontal branches having wave-form projections, which has a vertically denser distribution. The vascular stent of the present invention comprises stainless steel-based vertical branches and horizontal branches having wave-form projections. The widths of the vertical branch and horizontal branch range 0.09 to 0.12 mm and 0.05 to 0.09 mm, respectively, while each thickness of those are identical to each other and range 0.08 to 0.12 mm. The vascular stent of the invention provides so superior flexibility as to afford excellent adaptability to the anatomy of the vessel. Moreover, the dense distribution of the branches improves strength of stability of the vascular stent, which allows the stent to sufficiently expand against high recoiling force.
