  • Publication number: 20080279914
Abstract: There is disclosed a transdermal composition comprising from about 0.1 to 25% by weight of a piroxicam-inorganic material complex composed of a swellable clay and piroxicam intercalated between layers thereof, from about 50 to 80% by weight of an adhesive polymeric material, and from about 0.1 to 25% by weight of an absorption enhancer. There is further disclosed a transdermal patch system comprising the subject transdermal composition. In the transdermal composition, piroxicam is dispersed on a molecular level between layers of a clay material. As a result, the dispersability, stability and solubility of the piroxicam are improved, the recrystallization of the piroxicam is prevented, and excellent absorption properties and skin permeability of the piroxicam are achieved. Therefore, excellent anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects are exhibited, little or no skin irritation is caused, thereby preventing occurrence of side effects, and the active ingredient is continuously administered by a transdermal route.

  • Patent number: 7288318
Abstract: The present invention provides a hybrid material comprised of an active component for raw materials for cosmetics and a layered metal hydroxide, showing good stability, low toxicity, low irritation, good sustained release and good dispersibility. The present invention provides a method for preparing the hybrid material, using the coprecipitation method, the ion-exchange method or the adsorption method, depending on properties of the active component for raw materials for cosmetics. The method may further comprise a step of coating the surface of the hybrid material after preparation of the hybrid material. The present invention provides cosmectics comprising the above hybrid material.

  • Patent number: 6576589
Abstract: There is provided a method for preparing an anatase type titanium dioxide photocatalyst having a particle size of nano level without a need of the sintering process at high temperature, and an anatase type titanium dioxide photocatalyst having a particle size nano level. The method for preparing an anatase type titanium dioxide photocatalyst having a particle size of nano level includes adding a titanium-based starting material to a selected solvent and adding an acid or base catalyst to the resulting aqueous solution. Next, subjecting the catalyst-containing aqueous solution to heat treatment at about 80±20° C. to activate peptization thereby preparing an anatase type titanium dioxide sol solution. Finally, the anatase type titanium dioxide sol solution is coated onto a support to complete the preparation of the photocatalyst.

  • Patent number: 5487878
Abstract: A method for preparing a perpendicularly magnetizable material usable on magnetic recording media comprises the steps of: dissolving at least one member of the group consisting of strontium chloride and strontium nitrate with at least one member of the group consisting of iron chloride and iron nitrate in distilled water; adding citric acid to the resultant solution; controlling the pH of the solution to a range sufficient to completely dissociate the citric acid; heating the resultant solution with stirring to yield a gelatinous precursor; and subjecting the precursor to a temperature sufficiently high to remove the organic constituents thereof, which is characterized by controlling the pH of the solution to gelate the solution without the use of ethylene glycol, and can provide a perpendicularly magnetizable material superior in magnetic and particle properties.
