In accordance with embodiments of the present disclosure, tags in a virtual machine system are selected based on condition information input by a user. The virtual machines are retrieved for the selected tags. In this way, less data is required to be transmitted over the network and less data is required to be processed in order to retrieve specific virtual machines.
