Abstract: An ear-wearable electronic device comprises a motion sensor configured to generate motion information and a first respiration rate estimated using the motion information. A PPG sensor is configured to generate PPG data and a second respiration rate estimate using the PPG data. A processor is configured to produce a respiration rate estimate using the first and second respiration rate estimates. A communication device is configured to communicate the respiration rate estimate to one or both of an external electronic device and a cloud database.

Abstract: A method, system and computer program for defining a geometric code is provided. The method for generating a geometric code includes the steps of defining a first geometric shape, defining a size of a second geometric shape as a change in size from the first geometric shape, defining a position of the second geometric shape as a change in position from the first geometric shape, and displaying the first geometric shape and the second geometric shape. A system for imaging the defined geometric code includes a processor performing the steps of segmenting the imaged code, partitioning the segmented imaged code, determining a gray level of each portion of the partitioned segmented imaged code, and determining a code represented by each segmented portion of the partitioned segmented imaged code.

Abstract: A method and system for authenticating medication. The method includes the steps of printing a first recoverable key on a medication pill, printing a second recoverable key on a medication packaging for the medication pill, employing at least a portion of the first recoverable key to extract information from the second recoverable key, and providing medication authentication in accordance with information extracted from the second recoverable key. The first recoverable key and the second recoverable key may include one or more fractal properties.
