Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium, for performing by a client device, receiving from a remote system information comprising identifying data for a first application installed on the client device and contextual data describing a prior user interaction with the first application, obtaining an image of a user interface of a second application that is executing on the client device, creating an advertisement comprising a scaled-down version of the image adjacent to a presentation created from a template using the received information, presenting the advertisement such that the advertisement obscures the user interface of the second application, and in response to user interaction with the advertisement, launching the first application and causing a location in a user interface of the first application to be opened wherein the location is determined based on the contextual data.
