Patent number: 8340012Abstract: A device for controlling the access of user equipments to broadcast MBMS-type services includes i) a detector for determining whether general information, related to a MBMS service and broadcast by the radio access network, contains configuration information for a MICH-type, notification transport channel dedicated to the MBMS service and ii) a controller for either forcing the user equipment to periodically monitor a MCCH-type logical channel which carries control information related to the service, in the event that the configuration information for the MICH channel is not determined, in order to retrieve information necessary for accessing the MBMS service; or at least suggesting that the user equipment monitor the MICH channel in the event that its configuration information is determined, in order to retrieve update information for the MCCH channel making it possible to monitor the MCCH channel, so as to retrieve the information necessary for accessing the MBMS service.Type: GrantFiled: January 31, 2007Date of Patent: December 25, 2012Assignee: Alcatel LucentInventors: Stanislas Bourdeaut, Yann Sehedic

Method and apparatus for controlling the transmission of radio links in a radio-communication system
Patent number: 7853251Abstract: A method for controlling the transmission timing of a radio link on an air interface between a radio terminal and a radio access node, in a radio access node adapted to transmit a plurality of radio links to a radio terminal with substantially simultaneous transmission timings, is disclosed. It is determined whether predetermined conditions are met so that a substantially simultaneous transmission of a first and second radio links to said radio terminal can be selected. Responsive to this determination, a substantially simultaneous transmission of the first and second radio links is selected.Type: GrantFiled: February 2, 2006Date of Patent: December 14, 2010Assignee: Alcatel LucentInventors: Yann Sehedic, Laurent Vallette -
Patent number: 7839809Abstract: In a method for multicast service continuity in a radio communications system, each radio network controller has a first identifier of each multicast service whose activation was previously requested by at least one radio terminal (1, 11) via said radio network controller and is adapted to notify radio terminals in a corresponding coverage area of the start of at least one session relating to one of said multicast services, reported by a core network, said notification incorporating the first identifier of said service. With respect to a radio terminal (11) entering the coverage area of a drift radio network controller (15) after having been in the coverage area of a serving radio network controller (14), the radio terminal having previously requested activation of a multicast service via the serving radio network controller, the first identifier of said service is sent from the serving radio network controller to the drift radio network controller.Type: GrantFiled: April 27, 2005Date of Patent: November 23, 2010Assignee: Alcatel LucentInventors: Philippe Godin, Yann Sehedic, Laurence Lautier

Publication number: 20040096218Abstract: The invention concerns a method for call or connection admission control, in a telecommunication system in particular of the digital type. For each current connection and each requested connection, the method consists in determining a parameter which depends on the bandwidth and the power of the connection and in summing the parameters for all the connections. The requested connection is granted if the sum of said parameters does not exceed a predetermined threshold. In one embodiment, the parameter for each connection is homogeneous with a power level. The parameter is, for example, the product of a terminal or a base station power by a dimensionless coefficient proportional to a bandwidth. The invention is applicable to a telecommunications system wherein terminals (141, 142, 143) communicate with a base station (12), for example via satellites.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 28, 2003Publication date: May 20, 2004Inventors: Anne Magnier, Yann Sehedic, Eric Boudjema

Publication number: 20020094816Abstract: In a method of distributing transmission resources in a telecommunication system in which calls from or to terminals pass through a call connection station, the transmission resources controlled by the station are divided into dedicated resources allocated to terminals connected to the station and common resources that can be used by any terminal connected to the station if its dedicated resources are insufficient. This facilitates admitting calls into the network.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 20, 2001Publication date: July 18, 2002Applicant: ALCATELInventors: Eric Boudjema, Anne Magnier, Yann Sehedic
