  • Publication number: 20220142576
Abstract: There is described a method of acquiring physiological data with a wearable physiological data acquirer positioned onto an upper body of a user. The method generally has: acquiring first physiological data with the wearable physiological acquirer worn on the upper body of the user; removing the wearable physiological data acquirer from the upper body of the user; docking the wearable the physiological data acquirer to a docking station using a wired connection; the docking station extracting the first physiological data from the wearable physiological data acquirer via the wired connection; un-docking the wearable physiological data acquirer from the docking station after the extracting; repositioning the wearable physiological acquirer onto the upper body of the user; and acquiring a second physiological data with the wearable physiological acquirer worn on the upper body of the user.

  • Publication number: 20210212661
Abstract: Disclosed is an ultrasound system having a monitoring pad for application to a patient, an ultrasound probe that connects to the monitoring pad and has a plurality of ultrasound transducers, and an ultrasound beamforming device configured to control the ultrasound transducers to focus an ultrasound beam into the patient and to read resulting reflections of the ultrasound beam. The monitoring pad has an ultrasound gel pad and a support structure that holds the ultrasound gel pad. In accordance with an embodiment of the disclosure, the support structure is geometrically configured to receive the ultrasound probe and to hold it in a fixed arrangement against the ultrasound gel pad, such that the ultrasound gel pad is sandwiched between the patient and the ultrasound transducers. In some implementations, the monitoring pad has electrocardiogram electrodes and/or other sensor(s) unrelated to ultrasound, and the ultrasound beamforming device receives readings from the same.

  • Patent number: 10973452
Abstract: One of the methods includes positioning the physiological data acquirer on the body of a mammal with the electrodes exposed to the body; activating a data acquisition mode of operation of the physiological data acquirer and acquiring physiological data from the user when in said data acquisition mode. Another one of the methods includes extracting the acquired data using a data extraction device.

  • Publication number: 20190125260
Abstract: A housing can have two superposed housing members and a joint member connecting lips of the housing members to one another along at least a portion of a periphery. The housing members and the joint member can all be made of an elastomeric material, and thus be flexible, compressible, and have elasticity. An electronic unit within an air-filled cavity between the housing members can be received on a board, itself being received on one of the housing members, and having a press-switch unit covered by the other one of the housing members and forming part of a press-switch system.

  • Patent number: 8701317
Abstract: The auricular livestock identification tag comprising a male portion having a head at an end of a narrower stem, the head protruding laterally from the stem by an abutment ledge, and a female portion having an annular body with an axial aperture, and an insertion side opposite an exposure side, and a plurality of resilient abutment members extending inwardly from the annular body into the axial aperture, the abutment members being flexible to allow penetration of the head through the axial aperture from the insertion side to the exposure side, and resilient so as to return toward its original position, and under the abutment ledge, after said penetration, to thereafter prevent retraction of the head through the axial aperture.

  • Patent number: 7992067
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for coding a digital data string to represent a sequence of acoustic frequencies to be transmitted as an acoustic signal by a genuine acoustic authentication device; related to providing for improving the rate of successfully detecting a valid data string contained in the acoustic signal transmitted by the device. Each of a plurality of groups of bits of the data string are coded to represent a respective frequency value set of one or more acoustic frequencies to be transmitted acoustically to represent the respective group of bits. The number of acoustic frequencies in a frequency value set is less than the number of bits in the respective group of bits that the frequency value set represents. For each of the plurality of groups of bits of the data string, the respective frequency value set is selected according to a predetermined frequency assignation pattern that provides for probabilistic transition coding used for error correction of the acoustic signal.

  • Publication number: 20020047049
Abstract: The authentication device, for example a card, is provided with the capability of generating its own unique personalization data. Each device, prior to the personalization phase, is advantageously identical to any other device of a same batch. The device generates a random internal number using one or more different methods and in such a way that the internal number cannot be predicated and it is statistically improbable another device has an identical internal number. Segments of the random internal number are used to form the personalization data, for instance a serial number and key number. The random internal number can also be inserted in a mathematical algorithm, for example a one-way hashing function, to generate another number or other numbers to be used as the personalization data. Once generated, the personalization data are recorded in a memory.
