Abstract: A sealing device is configured to be mounted between two elements rotatable relative to one another, notably rings of a rolling bearing. The sealing device provides a seal and a shield adapted to be coupled to one of the two elements and arranged laterally to the seal to define a gap therebetween. The seal includes at least one sealing lip that bears against a radial portion of the shield. The thickness of the sealing lip gradually increases from a base portion of the lip towards its free end which is in friction contact with the shield. The thickness (t1) of the base portion of the sealing lip and the thickness (t2) of the free end of the lip are defined by: t1?t2 and 0.6?(t1+t2)3?1.2.
