Abstract: A catalyst used in the reaction of oxidative bromination of methane is provided. The catalyst is prepared by the following procedures: mixing at least one of the precursors selected from the compounds of Rh, Ru, Cu, Zn, Ag, Ce, V, W, Cd, Mo, Mn, Cr and La which can dissolve in water with the Si precursor, hydrolyzing, drying and sintering. In the catalysis system, methane reacts with HBr, H2O and oxygen source (O2, air or oxygen-rich air), finally CH3Br and CH2Br2 are produced. Another catalyst used in the reaction of condensation of methane bromide to C3-C13 hydrocarbons is also provided. This catalyst is prepared by supporting compounds of Zn or Mg on molecular sieves such as HZSM-5, HY, Hb, 3A, 4A, 5A or 13X et al. With this catalyst, CH3Br and CH2Br2 produced in the former process can react further to give C3 to C13 hydrocarbons and HBr, and HBr can be recycled as a medium.

  • Publication number: 20100135895
Abstract: The present invention provides a method for separating HBr from HBr-containing hydrocarbons (alkenes, aromatics and/or alkanes) to purify the hydrocarbons. Reacting a silica supported metal oxide solid material (MOx/SiO2, MOx=MgO, CoO, Co2O3, CuO and mixture thereof) with HBr in HBr-containing hydrocarbons, so as to ensure that the concentration of HBr is reduced to below 1.87×10?16, and then oxidizing the solid material which reacted with HBr in oxygen or air to regenerate MOx/SiO2, meanwhile Br2 is recycled. Therefore, the purpose of continuous purification of hydrocarbons can be achieved.

  • Publication number: 20100004494
Abstract: A process for preparing C3˜C13 hydrocarbons from methane, oxygen and HBr/H2O is provided including the steps of reacting methane with oxygen and HBr/H2O over a first catalyst in a first reactor to form CH3Br and CH2Br2; converting CH3Br and CH2Br2 into C3˜C13 hydrocarbons and HBr over a second catalyst in a second reactor; and recovering the HBr produced in the second reactor.

  • Publication number: 20090163749
Abstract: A process for converting methane into C3˜C13 hydrocarbons is provided including the steps of reacting methane with oxygen and HBr/H2O over a first catalyst in a first reactor to methane bromides and converting the methane bromides into C3˜C13 hydrocarbons and HBr over a second catalyst in a second reactor. The process may further include recovering HBr produced in the second reactor and recylcing it into the first reactor.
