    Abstract: An optical disc clamping device is provided. A driving bar is moved away from a center hole to synchronously drive a first linking bar and a second linking bar. A first pivotal rod and a second pivotal rod are respectively driven by the first slider and the second slider to move towards the center hole to drive a carrier which carries a chucking disk disposed thereon to contact a spindle motor. A suppresser is fixed at the rim of the center hole to press on the chucking disk to clamp the disc stably.

    Abstract: A slot-in disk drive device and a method thereof. The device includes a drive unit for providing power to move a slider. A loading unit moving with the slider drives a loading stick to push a disc into the device. The slider has a sliding slot. An ejecting unit with a bar-linkage mechanism has one end driven by the sliding slot, and the other end for rotating an ejecting bar to guide or push the disc out. A receiving unit has a receiving bar for guiding the disc, and has a positioning bar disposed between the loading unit and the ejecting unit. A sensing unit includes a plurality of sensing switches respectively disposed near the moving paths of the receiving bar, the ejecting unit and the positioning bar. The drive unit is enabled to load the disk is determined according to the order of actuating the switches.

A substrate having inclined slots arranged in parallel and used for guiding the receiving bar. A locking member mounted on the disk drive device has a stopper edge located on moving path of projecting guide pin of the transmission bar and a locking pin. One end of a pulling spring is fixed to the locking member so that the locking pin locks with the locking slot. One end of a restoring bar is mounted on the substrate, and a restoring torsion spring supports and restores the receiving bar.

One of the two linking parts is formed with a slot, and the other one of the two linking parts is connected to an upper end of a guide pin. A lower end of the guide pin protrudes and is inserted into the slot, and a portion of the guide pin corresponding to a side of the slot is formed with a notch. As the notch engages with the slot, the situation that the guide pin slides out of the slot can be avoided.

In the jam-proof device, a contact pin protrudes from one end of the loading bar, the other end of the loading bar is pivoted with a pivot on a first side of the casing, and a block protrudes adjacent to the pivot. One end of the unloading bar is pivoted on a second side of the casing opposite to the first side, and a reception end is formed at the other end of the unloading bar to extend to a center of the casing. A distance between the block and the reception end at a default position is shorter than a diameter of an 8-cm disc to prevent the disc from entering the slot-in optical disk drive.

    Abstract: An electrostatic discharge protection apparatus disposed in an optical disk drive includes a spindle motor and a feeding mechanism for driving a pick-up head. The mechanism includes a sled motor for driving the pick-up head. A traverse is disposed in a casing of the optical disk drive for disposing the motor and the mechanism. The electrostatic discharge protection apparatus is an elastic sheet disposed at one end of the spindle motor adjacent to the sled motor and includes a main body and several strips extending from the main body. The main body is connected with a metal fixing plate of the spindle motor. One strip contacts the sled motor, another strip contacts the guide bar, and another obliquely protruding strip penetrates and contacts a base plate and presses against the casing. A big electrostatic discharge sink is formed to buffer the transient impact caused by high electrostatic charges.

    Abstract: The invention provides a protection cover of a pick-up head provided on a traverse of an optical drive. A plate flatly is positioned on an upper surface of the traverse, and the plate has a slot, with one end of the slot fastened to a spindle motor to clamp a disc and the other end of the slot forming a staying part for the pick-up head to stay in a stand-by mode. The pick-up head is disposed in the slot and has an objective lens. When the objective lens stays in the staying part out of a periphery of a 12-cm disc, the protection cover crosses over the staying part to protect the objective lens.

    Abstract: The invention provides a cooling device for the feeding motor of a pick-up head on a traverse covered a protection plate. The protection plate disposes a long slot along the major axis of the traverse. One end of the long slot disposes a spindle rotating a disc above the protection plate. A feeding motor rotates a screw bar to move the pick-up head back and forward along the long slot. A diffuser is connected to at least one side of the upper surface of the feeding motor. An install recess on the protection plate faces the rotating disc and accommodates the upper surface and the diffuser to increase the cooling effect.
