  • Patent number: 7934225
Abstract: A slot-in disk drive device and a method thereof. The device includes a drive unit for providing power to move a slider. A loading unit moving with the slider drives a loading stick to push a disc into the device. The slider has a sliding slot. An ejecting unit with a bar-linkage mechanism has one end driven by the sliding slot, and the other end for rotating an ejecting bar to guide or push the disc out. A receiving unit has a receiving bar for guiding the disc, and has a positioning bar disposed between the loading unit and the ejecting unit. A sensing unit includes a plurality of sensing switches respectively disposed near the moving paths of the receiving bar, the ejecting unit and the positioning bar. The drive unit is enabled to load the disk is determined according to the order of actuating the switches.

  • Patent number: 7900220
Abstract: A slot-in disk drive device has a drive unit for providing power to move a slider and thus a sliding plate attached to the slider. Guiding slots on the sliding plate rotate a transmission bar. A guide pin is disposed on the transmission bar and moves with a loading stick. One end of a receiving bar is formed with a locking slot. A substrate having inclined slots arranged in parallel and used for guiding the receiving bar. A locking member mounted on the disk drive device has a stopper edge located on moving path of projecting guide pin of the transmission bar and a locking pin. One end of a pulling spring is fixed to the locking member so that the locking pin locks with the locking slot. One end of a restoring bar is mounted on the substrate, and a restoring torsion spring supports and restores the receiving bar.

  • Patent number: 7739700
Abstract: An insertion-proof device for optical disk drive is provided to prevent other discs from being inserted in the operating disk drive. A slider moves back and forth along the optical disk drive to load and unload a disc. A push head is disposed on one end of the slider near an entrance. A protrusion is extended backward from the protection unit and disposed on the moving path of the slider. At least one supporting arm is extended from the protection unit. After a disc is loaded, the push head pushes the protrusion, so that the protection unit rotatably fixed near the entrance is turned upward to cover part of the entrance to prevent other discs from being inserted in the operating disk drive. When unloading a disc, the push head releases the protrusion, so that the protection unit leaves the entrance for the original position.

  • Patent number: 7698715
Abstract: An ejection device of a slot-in optical disc drive includes a rotating plate and an elastic unit. The rotating plate is installed on the slot-in optical disc drive and attached to an actuating gear of a feeding gear unit. The actuating gear is capable of following the rotation of the rotating plate to disengage from the feeding gear unit of the slot-in optical disc drive. The elastic unit is attached to the rotating plate to keep the actuating gear engaged with the feeding gear unit. A push wall of the rotating plate and a push block of a sliding piece, connected with the output of the feeding gear unit, are located sequentially on the path of a hole penetrating into the optical disk drive. A stick can be inserted into the hole to activate the ejection device.

  • Publication number: 20080250438
Abstract: An emergency ejection device in a slot-in optical drive includes a panel with a hole. A sliding part disposes a pushing block on the path which passes through the hole into the slot-in optical drive. A guiding groove is disposed between the hole and the pushing block. The sliding part links to a loading/unloading mechanism and a rack on the sliding part engages one end of a gear set. The gear set includes a plurality of gears engaging each other one by one for transporting the power. A worm gear with a lead angle larger than the self-lock critical angle, i.e. arctan (?/cos B), engages the other end of the gear set. A stick can put into the hole to push the pushing block backward to move the sliding part for ejecting a disc.

  • Publication number: 20070174856
Abstract: An optical disc drive suitable for accommodating an optical disc is provided. The optical disc drive includes a housing, a rack, a swing arm and a cushion. The rack is disposed inside the housing, and the swing arm is pivoted to the rack. When an optical disc moves to a first disc location of the rack, the disc pushes the swing arm to rotate from a first arm location to a second arm location. When the disc returns from the first disc location back to a second disc location, the swing arm rotates from the second arm location back to the first arm location. The cushion is disposed to cover a protruding portion of the swing arm for buffering an impact.
