  • Patent number: 8719619
Abstract: A method for improving the performance of a RAID under rebuild is disclosed. In one embodiment, such a method includes identifying a RAID requiring rebuild, such as by identifying a RAID having one or more failed storage-drive components. The method then automatically performs the following in response to identifying the RAID: the method identifies hot extents (i.e., extents most heavily accessed) in the RAID; the method migrates the hot extents from the identified failed RAID to a normal RAID not requiring rebuild, such as to an underused RAID; and the method rebuilds the failed RAID. The migration of the hot extents will ideally occur while the RAID is being rebuilt but may also be performed prior to the rebuild process. A corresponding apparatus and computer program product are also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20120070984
Abstract: In a method for forming an electrode structure in a display device, e.g. a source, drain or gate electrode or a pixel electrode, a photoactive conductive layer, which includes conductive material containing photoactive material, is formed above a substrate of the display device. The photoactive conductive layer is then patterned with a photo-mask and partially removed without the presence of a photo-resist to form the electrode structure.

  • Publication number: 20110217687
Abstract: An examination system and an examination method are disclosed. The examination method includes: generating a first test data by a host device, in which the first test data has a plurality of questions; rearranging the questions of the first test data in order to generate a second test data; and sending the second test data to a corresponding examination device for taking the examination. An anti-cheating module is provided for detecting distances between the examination devices or detecting a deviation angle of a character image of the examinee. When the distance is less than a predetermined value or the deviation angle is greater than a predetermined value, an anti-cheating signal is then generated for avoiding cheating actions.

  • Publication number: 20110067510
Abstract: An eccentric vibrating amplitude device of a vibrator includes an eccentric unit on at least one end of an extended shaft of a reversible motor and includes a balance block located at an innermost location of the eccentric unit mounted on a shaft and an eccentric block located at the outermost location. on the shaft. The balance block and eccentric block include an eccentric round hole block and eccentric blocks for receiving the shaft. When mounted on the extended shaft of a reversible motor, the rotational angle between the balance block and the eccentric block and the torque on the motor selectively changes when the motor rotates in a positive or a negative direction. Hence there is provided a selectable or variable vibrating amplitude intensity.

  • Publication number: 20060292836
Abstract: A manufacturing method of polysilicon is provided. First, a substrate is provided, and an amorphous silicon layer is formed on the substrate. Then, a buffer layer is formed on the amorphous silicon layer, and a metal catalysis solution is applied onto the surface of the buffer layer, wherein the metal catalysis solution comprises a solvent and a metal salt. Thereafter, a baking process is performed to remove the solvent of the metal catalysis solution and depositing the metal salt on the surface of the buffer layer. Then, an annealing treatment is performed for diffusing metal ions of the metal salt into the amorphous silicon layer and inducing the amorphous silicon layer to crystallize and become a polysilicon layer. Next, the buffer layer and the metal salt remaining thereon are removed. The method can prevent excess metal silicide or metal atoms in the amorphous silicon layer.

  • Patent number: 7092054
Abstract: The method for fabricating reflector plate for a reflective liquid crystal display and the device is disclosed. The present invention includes the formation of a protection layer over the glass substrate having thin film transistors and a layer of transparent electrodes on top, followed by the formation of a layer of undulating resin over the protection layer. If the reflector plate to be produced is a semi-transmissive type, a light-transmitting region is created over the protection layer. Since the protection layer is created in advance of the undulating resin outgrowth, the present method can effectively prevent reflection from the exposure stage during the lithography process, thus the problem of abnormal pattern marks occurring on the reflective surface can be avoided, and the exposure time and the production yield are enhanced.
