    Abstract: An upstanding clamping longitudinal conveyor system for whole-stem reed harvesting includes a conveyor device, a height adjustment mechanism, and a control unit. A preharvest detection unit is configured to detect height information of reeds in a preharvest region, and transmit the height information to the control unit; a position sensor is configured to detect a current height of the conveyor device, and transmit the current height to the control unit; a lifting device is connected to the conveyor device; and the control unit is configured to calculate an average height of the reeds in the preharvest region and a height of a gravity center of the reeds, seek a height difference between the height of the gravity center of the reeds and the current height of the conveyor device, and adjust a position of the conveyor device to correspond to the gravity center of the reeds in the preharvest region.

The reed baling and stacking device includes a knotter, a feed box, a stacking mechanism, and a control unit, where the stacking mechanism is located between the knotter and the feed box; the knotter is configured to knot reeds into small bales; the stacking mechanism is configured to stack the small bales of reeds to the feed box vertically or horizontally; the feed box is configured to knot the small bales of reeds into a big bale; and the control unit is connected to the feed box and the stacking mechanism. According to the present disclosure, the reeds are knotted into the small bales, the small bales are stacked to the feed box vertically or horizontally, the small bales of reeds are knotted into the big bale, and the big bale is unloaded mechanically.

The present disclosure can realize low-damage digging, high-efficiency conveyance, and high-performance potato-soil and potato-stem separation at a time, can effectively reduce a digging resistance in potato harvesting and prevent soil hilling and potato damaging phenomena, and improves conveyance and separation efficiencies for a potato-soil-stem mixture. The present disclosure makes the harvester more adaptable to different soil properties and potato varieties, allows an operator to better adjust working performance of the harvester, reduces a falling damage of potatoes due to a large falling height in box packaging, and meets requirements of high-efficiency combine harvesting of the potatoes.
