Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure provide an electrical cooker, configured for cooling and/or heating a food item, including: a platform configured for receiving a cooking receptacle for cooling or heating; a heating element coupled to the platform for thermal transfer through conduction, the heating element further coupled to an electrical source for resistively heating the heating element; and a cooling element, configured for thermal transfer through conduction with the received cooking receptacle, the cooling element further coupled to a vapor-compression cooling system including a refrigerant circulating through the vapor-compression cooling system.
