    Abstract: A prosthetic pericardium comprises a sheathing (1) made of a biologically neutral elastic material and sized to suit the heart's size, and provided with a means for its being fixed on the heart. The sheathing (1) is shaped as a figure-of-eight platelet one of whose loops (2) has a greater area than the other loop and is provided with a projection shaped as a reed (4) and located at its top. The fixation means is made as a guide channel (5) situated along the contour of the platelet accommodated in the channel (5) of a tube (6) made of an elastic material, and a flexible cord (7) accommodated in the tube (6) with a possibility of reciprocating therealong.

    Abstract: A device for cleansing the colon includes an elastic housing with an oval-shaped end and provided with an aspiration channel and a discharge channel isolated from each other, each channel having its own outlet port in the end of the housing. An endoscope is built into the aspiration channel and is provided with a transparent balloon on its working portion, while the discharge channel accommodates an open-end capillary tube whose open end is brought outwards through the end of the housing, the other end of the tube being connected to a pressure measurement instrument.

The supporting jaw is located at the end of the staple jaw so as to rotate, in a hinge-joint, through 180 degrees with respect to the latter.

    Abstract: A wound retractor comprises a split tube made up of two halves, holders of the tube halves, a mechanism for spreading the tube halves apart, incorporating a retainer for locking the tube halves in position. The holder of one tube half is shaped as a plate having an oblong opening at the edge of which the tube half is located. The holder of the other tube half is shaped as a strip mounted slidably over the plate and having an opening similar to that in the plate. The second tube half is fitted at the edge of the strip opening opposite to the first tube half.
