  • Patent number: 4396827
Abstract: A multi-item data input apparatus is disclosed whereby an operator can designate one of a plurality of items by actuation of a key, thereby generating a signal indicative of that item. The items are visibly printed or written on a number of item information sheets, each of which is enclosed between a transparent cover sheet and a base sheet each of which is flexible, with the sheets being rolled around a cylindrical holder in a successively overlapping manner. Means are provided whereby a sheet set, comprising an item information sheet with cover sheet and base sheet, can be selectively unrolled and positioned below a keyboard having transparent keys, to allow designation of items on that item information sheet. The item information sheets can be rapidly and conveniently removed, for exchange of sheets or for modification of item information.

  • Patent number: 4326195
Abstract: A multi-item data input apparatus for manual generation of data to designate selected ones of a plurality of items, the items being visibly displayed on a flat sheet, comprising a plate having apertures therein in positions corresponding to those of the items on the sheet, a transparent key mounted in each of the apertures and movable therein within a limited range, a contact spring actuatable by each key, and a matrix of conductor elements arranged in rows and columns in relation to the contact springs such that contact between two intersecting conductors is established by actuation of any of the keys, thereby generating data designating the item which is visible through that key.

  • Patent number: 4297028
Abstract: A multi-item data input apparatus for manual generation of data to designate selected ones of a plurality of items comprises lists of items visibly written in matrix array form on a number of sheets, with the sheets being rolled around a cylindrical holder in successively overlapping relationship. Means are provided for unrolling a selected one of the sheets such as to position the corresponding item array below a keyboard having a transparent key above each item. Actuation of a key causes an electrical signal designating the corresponding item to be generated.
