  • Patent number: 10045296
Abstract: A method and apparatus for extending the sleep time for a Bluetooth transceiver circuit uses a fine count signal and a base count signal during the sleep mode, followed by an interval that accounts for wake-up overhead and preparation for the next active mode. The wake-up to active mode is aligned with the timing signal that defines the communication slots in the Bluetooth communications. The extension of the sleep mode until a beginning of a communication slot in active mode is accomplished for wake-up processes that are initiated by an external trigger event as well as for wake-up processes that are initiated as a result of an internal timer. Power consumption is reduced because the circuit does not wake up to active mode before communication can be carried out in a communication slot.

  • Patent number: 9054825
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide a method that includes receiving, by a traffic arbiter, a predetermined time-slot allocation of one or more uplink time slots and/or one or more downlink time slots for a first wireless media access control (MAC) configured to operate within a first wireless transmission system. The method also includes determining, by the traffic arbiter, whether to grant a second wireless MAC, configured to operate within a second wireless transmission system, permission to transmit or receive based at least in part on the predetermined time-slot allocation.

  • Patent number: 7127541
Abstract: In one embodiment, a system for automatically establishing a wireless connection between adapters includes a master adapter coupleable to a peripheral device. The master adapter can automatically enter an inquiry mode in response to the occurrence of a first event. In the inquiry mode, the master adapter automatically establishes one or more wireless connections between the master adapter and one or more slave adapters that are coupled to one or more computer systems. The master adapter can also automatically enter an operational mode in response to the occurrence of a second event. In the operational mode, the master adapter enables communication between the peripheral device and the one or more computer systems via the one or more wireless connections using a wireless protocol.
