    Abstract: A reel mounting handle having a reel foot holding member slidably disposed in a guide member extending from a reel mounting portion. The holding member is of a cross shape in cross section, the upper and lower major projections being extended out from the openings longitudinally formed in the guide member. The guide member is formed with a bore along the length thereof to slidably receive the holding member. The bore has substantially the same cross sectional shape as that of the minor projections of the movable member. The major projections are formed with threads at the peripheral end surfaces thereof, respectively to engage a sleeve rotatably disposed adjacent the reel mounting portion.

    Abstract: A spinning reel including a drag mechanism for providing a controlled amount of frictional force between an anti-reversing gear and a rotor drive wheel connected to the rotor. A disc member is provided on the side of the rotor drive wheel opposite the anti-reversing gear. The disc member is adapted to urge the rotor drive wheel toward the anti-reversing gear against the force of a spring member to thereby control the rotation of the rotor drive wheel when the anti-reversing gear is locked. Spool oscillation is effected by a gear disposed parallel to the rotor drive wheel and on the opposite side of the spool shaft therefrom, and driven by the rotor pinion. An eccentric pin or projection is provided on this gear, and slides transversely in a groove in a T-shaped oscillator piece secured to the axially slidable spool shaft as the reel handle is turned, to thereby reciprocate or oscillate the spool.

    Abstract: One end of a spring loaded bail wire 13 is secured to a pivotally mounted lever arm 3 having an arcuate cam projection 4 of tapering radius provided with a recess 18. The cam projection is surrounded by a circular extension 7' on one end of a spring biased slider 7 mounted in a support block 2 integral with the reel rotor 1 A follower projection 17 on the inner surface of the circular extension engages the cam projection, and is configured to mate with the recess to latch the bail in its cocked position. Upon rotation of the rotor the projecting slider strikes a fixed slider kick member 14, and is cammed inwardly thereby to unseat the projection from the recess and release the cocked bail. The two spring forces increasingly offset each other during the bail return, to thereby inplement a smooth and quiet tripping operation with a very low slider impact against the fixed kick member.

    Abstract: A fishing reel of the bearing type includes a guide roller for guiding the fishing line. The guide roller is attached to a pair of arms and is swingable with said arms towards and away from the spool. Brake pads located on said arms frictionally engage the spool outer circumference with a force dependent upon the weight of the guide roller and the pulling force on the line. Manual adjusting screw means adjusts the braking force.

    Abstract: A reel mechanism includes a pinion engaged with a main toothed wheel that is rotated by a handle. The pinion is selectively engaged to a main rod for joint locking rotation thereof. A spool is fixed to the main rod. The reel mechanism further includes a clutch lever, a clutch cam, and a switching lever. The clutch lever is engaged with the pinion in such a manner that the pinion can rotate relative to the lever but both are locked together axially. The clutch cam is rotatably mounted to the housing and has cam surfaces which axially move the switching lever and the pinion when the cam rotates. The cam surfaces have a displacement larger than the height of that part of the pinion which engages the main rod.

    Abstract: A device for mounting and demounting a spool in a fishing spinning-reel having slits provided on a reel shaft and a plate spring, a push button and a cover provided respectively on a spool. The plate spring has two elastic holding pieces which is fitly pressed in the slits. Each holding pieces includes a slant outside plate portion with which the rear edge of the push button is in contact. When the push button is pushed down, the push button spread the outside plate portions at the rear edge thereof to make the holding pieces free from the reel shaft whereby the spool can easily and speedily be exchanged by one touch operation.
