  • Publication number: 20230346439
Abstract: The self-contouring plate system for bone fractures with anti-rotation stop allows a surgeon to bridge a bone fracture, primarily in bones of complex shape where the use of plates or screws is difficult. The self-contouring plate is formed from a series of similar or identical rigid elements, the elements able to bend and rotate with respect to each other. This flexibility is initially helpful as the surgeon contours the device to the shape of the bone. When the desired shape is reached, the elements are locked into place. The length of device is adjusted by adding or removing elements, much like a necklace. Each element of the self-contouring plate includes a ball that extends away from a body, a cavity for receiving the ball of the neighboring plate, and a screw to compress the ball within the cavity.

  • Patent number: 10575843
Abstract: A suture anchor for deployment in a preformed bone hole to secure soft tissue to bone. The anchor includes a proximal part, a distal part, an inner tube part and a ring part. The ring part is configured to move independently relative to the proximal part, inner tube part and distal part and further comprises two pairs of opposing apertures defining two suture passageways between an outer surface of the inner tube part and inner surface of the ring part. Before or after being connected to soft tissue, a suture is directed through the two suture passageways. Tension on the tissue can be adjusted by maneuvering the suture in the ring part without interfering with advancement of the distal part into the bone. The anchor has a center bore extending longitudinally between a distal end and proximal end of the anchor and is configured to receive an insertion guide.

  • Patent number: 10368858
Abstract: The suture passer includes a body from which two mechanisms protrude: a hollow needle through which a suture is guided, the suture exiting at the surgical site; and a sliding hollowing tube with a distal opening, exposing a resilient member. When gripping of a suture is required, the resilient member is intentionally over-extended, causing the resilient member to bow and protrude from the distal opening. A suture is then passed into the resulting gap between the sliding hollowing tube and resilient member, the resilient member then allowed to retract back into place, thereby clamping the suture.

  • Patent number: 8057362
Abstract: An exercise device provides a revolving range of motion around an axis designed to provide an exercise of the whole torso muscles in one block. Multiple embodiments include a base frame, an arm portion connected to and extending from the base frame and a rotatable platform mounted on the arm portion. In some embodiments, the arm portion is adjustable and is configured to form a plurality of angles with the base frame, and the platform is configured to be mounted on the arm portion at a plurality of distances from a center of the base frame. Other embodiments include a base frame, a substantially enclosed track mounted on the base frame, a rolling mechanism that rides on the substantially enclosed track and a rotatable platform that rides on the rolling mechanism.

  • Patent number: 7955240
Abstract: An exercise device including a frame including a base frame and first and second posts extending substantially orthogonally from substantially outer ends of the base frame, a first platform rotatably connected to the base frame and selectably lockable in at least one position. The first platform includes a curved track mounted on the first platform such that a lowest point of the curved track is substantially near a center of the first platform and a pair of high points are located substantially near opposite outer edges of the first platform. A rolling mechanism is configured to ride on the curved track. A second platform rotatably mounted to the rolling mechanism is selectably lockable in at least one position. Such an exercise device provides multiple ranges of motion designed to provide an abdominal exercise that targets various different abdominal muscle regions, and may also provide an aerobic and/or cardiac workout.
