Patent number: 8544449Abstract: A device for feeding fuel from a fuel tank (33) to a multi-fuel engine (12) that uses fuel in which alcohol and gasoline are mixed in an arbitrary ratio. The internal volume of a connecting line (84) provided between a fuel pressure governor (85) and a fuel injection device (50) is a volume equal to or greater than the amount of fuel consumed from startup of the engine until an oxygen sensor (88) reaches a measurement-enabling temperature.Type: GrantFiled: February 18, 2009Date of Patent: October 1, 2013Assignee: Honda Motor Co., Ltd.Inventors: Yasufumi Yokura, Atsushi Ito, Yoichi Takahashi, Tsuyoshi Izaki

Patent number: 8517198Abstract: A vehicular fuel tank fuel filler orifice device that is provided with a fuel filler orifice in an upper wall of a vehicular fuel tank that stores ethanol fuel for an engine and a fuel filler guide tube extending from the fuel filler orifice to the interior of the fuel tank. A flame arrestor made of a metal mesh with a larger diameter than that of the fuel filler guide tube is mounted on the fuel filler guide tube. The flame arrestor covers a lower opening of the fuel filler guide tube for allowing a flow of the fuel but preventing the entrance of a flame. Using a flame arrestor, not only prevents a flame from entering a fuel tank from a fuel filler orifice but also smoothly carries out an exchange of fuel and air in the flame arrestor when filling with fuel, thus speeding the filling with fuel.Type: GrantFiled: October 16, 2008Date of Patent: August 27, 2013Assignee: Honda Motor Co., Ltd.Inventors: Yusuke Muto, Yasufumi Yokura, Shiro Kokubu

Patent number: 8056539Abstract: Fuel supply equipment for a vehicle includes a fuel filter cover for covering a fuel filter that is disposed outside of a fuel tank. A fuel pressure regulator for keeping fuel supplied to a fuel injection system under predetermined pressure is arranged so that the fuel pressure regulator is located inside the fuel filter cover and is overlapped with the fuel filter cover when a vehicle is viewed from the side. The fuel pressure regulator is connected to an outflow side of the fuel filter via a fuel hose for keeping fuel supplied to a fuel injection system under predetermined pressure. A holder for supporting the fuel pressure regulator is attached to the fuel filter cover before it is attached to a body frame. The resulting configuration enhances the ability to install and maintain a fuel filter provided outside the fuel tank.Type: GrantFiled: January 26, 2009Date of Patent: November 15, 2011Assignee: Honda Motor Co., Ltd.Inventors: Yasufumi Yokura, Tsuyoshi Izaki

Publication number: 20100288762Abstract: A vehicular fuel tank fuel filler orifice device that is provided with a fuel filler orifice (15a) in an upper wall (3a) of a vehicular fuel tank (3) that stores ethanol fuel as fuel for an engine and a fuel filler guide tube (15) extending from the fuel filler orifice (15a) to the interior of a fuel tank (3) and receiving a fuel filler gun (G), wherein mounted on the fuel filler guide tube (15) are a flame arrestor (21) and a gun stopper (20), the flame arrestor (21) covering a lower opening of the fuel filler guide tube (15) and allowing flow of the fuel but preventing the entrance of flame, and the gun stopper (20) preventing abutment of the fuel filler gun (G) inserted into the fuel filler guide tube (15) against the flame arrestor (21). This enables damage to a flame arrestor by a fuel filler gun inserted into a fuel filler orifice to be prevented without using a long fuel filler guide tube.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 16, 2008Publication date: November 18, 2010Applicant: HONDA MOTOR CO., LTD.Inventors: Yusuke Muto, Yasufumi Yokura, Shiro Kokubu
