Patent number: 9604479Abstract: An image forming system superposes a plurality of recording sheets on top of another by a predetermined number of sheets and discharges the recording sheets. The image forming system includes a recording sheet conveyor, a recording sheet superposition unit, and a controller. The recording sheet conveyor conveys the recording sheets. The recording sheet superposition unit superposes a preceding recording sheet and a succeeding recording sheet sent from the recording sheet conveyor. The controller controls the recording sheet superposition unit not to superpose the preceding recording sheet and the succeeding recording sheet when the controller refers to recording sheet information of the preceding recording sheet and determines that the preceding recording sheet is a recording sheet of a specified kind.Type: GrantFiled: March 20, 2015Date of Patent: March 28, 2017Assignee: KONICA MINOLTA, INC.Inventor: Yasuhide Kokura

Patent number: 8630576Abstract: An image forming system comprises: an image forming apparatus and a post processing apparatus that performs a post process on sheets each carrying thereon an image printed by the image forming apparatus. In the image forming system, a sheet feeder feeds sheets of a job to be post-processed to a post processing position; a timing judger judges which is before/after, the first timing to finish feeding the last sheet of the job to the post processing position, or the second timing to finish making preparation for a post process; a delaying time calculator calculates a post process execution delaying time that is a time difference between the first timing and the second timing; and a sheet feed controller controls sheet feed timing of the top sheet of a following job by using the calculated post process execution delaying time, if the second timing is after the first timing.Type: GrantFiled: March 21, 2008Date of Patent: January 14, 2014Assignee: Konica Minolta Business Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Yasuhide Kokura, Yasuomi Mitsui, Takashi Noda

Publication number: 20090122365Abstract: Whether it is a double-side original mode is determined. When it is the double-side original mode, whether it is two-in-one printing mode is determined. When it is two-in-one printing mode, sequential reading mode is set. When it is not two-in-one printing mode, whether it is double-side printing and two-point stapling mode is determined. When it is double-side printing and two-point stapling mode, sequential reading mode is set. When it is not double-side printing and two-point stapling mode, whether it is booklet mode is determined. When it is booklet mode, alternate reading mode is set. When it is not booklet mode, concurrent reading mode is set.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 9, 2008Publication date: May 14, 2009Applicant: Konica Minolta Business Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Takashi NODA, Yasuhide Kokura, Yasuomi Mitsui, Yoshihiko Hatta

Patent number: 5249017Abstract: A printer automatically discriminates whether a charged microfilm is a negative film or a positive film and reproduces a positive image on a recording sheet from an image recorded on the microfilm. The discrimination between a negative film and a positive film is automatically attained by the detection of the luminous energy of a light traveling through the microfilm and the N-P mode or the P-P mode, whichever conforms to the outcome of the detection, is set. The kind of film found by the discrimination is displayed on a display part. Then the key operation is made after the copying performed under the automatically set mode is completed, the existent mode is switched to the opposite mode. By the key input, the operator is allowed to set either of the modes mentioned above. Even when the judgment on the kind of film yields an erroneous result, the number of incorrect copies can be minimized by a simple procedure.Type: GrantFiled: December 9, 1991Date of Patent: September 28, 1993Assignee: Minolta Camera Kabushiki KaishaInventor: Yasuhide Kokura

Patent number: 5140363Abstract: An apparatus and method for detecting an image density of an original document is provided. The density of the image of an original document is determined during the changing of the zoom magnification of a zoom lens. A control signal for the image density is then utilized to control an imaging operation.Type: GrantFiled: July 17, 1991Date of Patent: August 18, 1992Assignee: Minolta Camera Co., Ltd.Inventors: Katsunori Sakakibara, Yasuhide Kokura

Patent number: 5065179Abstract: A microfilm reader-printer having a reader mode for projecting an image of a microfilm onto a screen and a printer mode for printing the image on a copy paper. The screen is provided with indexes indicative of a plurality of sizes of a copy paper. For a copy paper of a size larger than a certain size, the index indicates a smaller size than the size of the copy paper. A lens of variable magnification type is used so that the magnification of the projection lens for the reader mode is made smaller than the magnification for printer mode when a copy paper of a size larger than the certain size is selected. The magnifications for the reader mode and printer mode are made equal to each other when a copy paper of a size smaller than or equal to the certain size is selected.Type: GrantFiled: December 18, 1990Date of Patent: November 12, 1991Assignee: Minolta Camera Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Katsunori Sakakibara, Hajime Otsuki, Kenjiro Ishii, Yasuhide Kokura
