  • Patent number: 5444427
Abstract: An engine igniting coil device comprising a coil case with a plurality of coil units disposed therein and integrally potted with insulating resin, which is featured by provision with a coil cover that fits in the coil case and can mount therein high-voltage and low-voltage terminal sockets for the coil units, allowing the assembly of the electrical connections of the coil units in optimal conditions.

  • Patent number: 5416459
Abstract: An engine igniting coil device wherein an I-type core fitted in a hollow portion of a primary coil bobbin and a U-type core are arranged to oppose at their end faces, each other at a specified gap therebetween to form a closed magnetic circuit. The primary coil bobbin with the I-type core has a core holding portion integrally formed thereon for attaching thereto an end portion of the U-type core and the core holding portion also serves as an anti-cracking cover. This cover can accurately determine the positions of both cores and can effectively prevent initiation of cracking in the potting resin injected and cured in the coil case.

  • Patent number: 5109209
Abstract: Disclosed is an engine igniting coil device which comprises a plurality of coil units arranged in a case and unitarily potted therein with thermosetting resin, and is characterized by that a core portion of each coil unit is covered with a core cover, a coil base is mounted in the case to enclose portions of the core covers extruding from the coil case and inner space of the coil case is divided by partitions to separately accommodate coil units, thereby a required amount of resin for potting is reduced and thermal crack resistance of the resin potions is increased.

  • Patent number: 4962361
Abstract: There is disclosed an ignition coil for an engine including a terminal coupler formed integrally with a coil bobbon, a connecting terminal rotatably mounted in said terminal coupler, so that it is electrically connected to a terminal arranged in said terminal coupler and having a cut groove formed therein, said cut groove having a groove width which is slightly narrower at its inner side than that of a coil wire, and a holder for holding a terminal end of a coil pulled out of said coil bobbin, said holder being arranged on the side of said terminal coupler, in which said connecting terminal is rotated, whereby the terminal end of the coil held in the cut groove of said holder becomes positively gripped into the cut groove of said holder, to form an electrical connection between said connecting terminal and the terminal and of said coil.

  • Patent number: 4918419
Abstract: There is disclosed an ignition coil for an engine which is arranged to connect a terminal end of a coil strand to a terminal member by pulling the terminal end of the coil strand out of a coil bobbin, positioning said terminal end of the coil strand in a U-shaped groove of a terminal member attached to the coil bobbin and then connecting the terminal end of the coil strand to said terminal member by fusing connection, while crushing the U-shaped groove of the terminal member, in which a guide member is provided on the coil bobbin to position the pulled out end of the coil strand at a predetermined position in the U-shaped groove of the terminal member.
