  • Patent number: 7123217
Abstract: A driving method of a plasma display panel is provided in which effective resolution and luminance in a display of fields that constitute a frame are improved. The method includes dividing each of M (M?2) fields that constitute a frame into K (K?2) subfields having luminance weight, displaying the k (1?k<K) subfields selected in descending order of the luminance weight in progressive format using all display lines out of the K subfields and displaying the remaining subfields in interlaced format using the display lines selected at regular intervals at a ratio of one per M display lines in arrangement order.

  • Publication number: 20060158390
Abstract: In a conventional method of driving a plasma display panel, for example, an auxiliary discharge is executed between an A electrode and a Y electrode to improve light-emission efficiency of a display discharge. However, since a phosphor layer is present between the A electrode and the Y electrode, the phosphor layer is exposed to a discharge, whereby there is a problem that its characteristic deteriorates. A method of driving a plasma display panel having a structure, in which at least three display electrodes X, Y, and Z used for a display discharge are provided to a display cell and no phosphor layer is formed between said display electrodes and a discharge space, the method comprising the steps of: varying a potential of at least one display electrode Z of said display electrodes during said display discharge; and making a potential of said at least one display electrode Z at a time of starting said display discharge different from that at a time of ending said display discharge.

  • Publication number: 20060065486
Abstract: A large diameter part is formed in a case-side oil passage, an O-ring is fitted into the large diameter part, and an oil pump is installed to the transmission case by adjusting a discharge hole thereof and the case-side oil passage in alignment with each other. A notch is formed in radial direction from an inner peripheral surface of the large diameter part to an outer peripheral surface of a seat part. When the discharge hole and the case-side oil passage are communicated without the O-ring in the large diameter part, an oil passing through the discharge hole leaks from the notch. Thus in a state the O-ring is not assembled, an oil pressure is not increased by positively leaking the oil through the notch, whereby it can be easily detected that the O-ring is not assembled by mistake.

  • Publication number: 20060065487
Abstract: There is provided an oil separating structure of an automatic transmission, which makes it difficult for an oil strainer of an oil pump to draw oil containing air bubbles. A baffle plate base separates a space around the oil strainer and a space around a driven sprocket as well as a final gear, and therefore, oil containing air bubbles formed as a result of agitation by the driven sprocket, chain, and final gear does not flow directly into the oil strainer. As a result, the oil strainer is unlikely to draw oil containing air bubbles.

  • Publication number: 20060060424
Abstract: There is provided a baffle plate which conforms to the shape of the inner peripheral surface of a transmission case and can be easily brought into contact with the inner peripheral surface of the transmission case, making it easier to design and manufacture the baffle plate. Rubber plates are arranged on a side of the baffle plate in proximity to the bottom wall of the transmission case. The baffle plate encloses both sides of the rotating surface of the driven sprocket. Therefore, even if the inner peripheral surface of the bottom wall of the transmission case has a complex shape, the side of the baffle plate in proximity to the case bottom wall can be closely attached to the inner peripheral surface of the transmission case. And, the baffle plate can be easily designed and manufactured. Also, oil agitating resistance during rotation of the driven sprocket can be reduced.

  • Patent number: 6853358
Abstract: A method for driving a plasma display panel is provided in which wasteful power consumption is reduced and ion bombardment that may deteriorate cells is suppressed for a long life of cells. A ratio of lighting that is a ratio of the number of cells to be lighted to a total number of cells is detected in accordance with display data that determine contents of addressing. In accordance with the detected ratio of lighting, a waveform of a voltage pulse that is applied in the sustaining step for displaying the corresponding display data is changed so that a gradient of the voltage change at a leading edge becomes smaller for a large value of the ratio of lighting than for a small value of the same.

  • Patent number: 6498431
Abstract: In a display panel, the luminance and contrast are improved by making a partition semitransparent, which is a constituent element adjacent to a light-emitting section. A visible light incident on the partition proceeds inside the partition while being attenuated at a constant rate. When an external light incident on the partition from the front side is reflected off the bottom surface of the partition and returns to the front side again, the external light reciprocates inside the partition. Since the external light is largely attenuated by the reciprocation, the partition seemingly functions as an optical absorber with respect to the external light. A light emitted by the light-emitting section can transmit through the partition and radiate to the outside from the front side.
