  • Patent number: 8145006
Abstract: According to one embodiment, an image processing apparatus includes a decoder, an acquisition module, a sharpening module, and a controller. The decoder decodes an encoded image to obtain a decoded image. The acquisition module acquires quantization information indicating the accuracy of quantization upon generating the encoded image. The sharpening module performs sharpening on the decoded image. The controller controls the effect of the sharpening based on the quantization information such that the effect of the sharpening is reduced as the accuracy decreases.

  • Publication number: 20110058100
Abstract: A video signal processing apparatus includes: a receiver receiving input of a predetermined video display mode; a video converter generating video data by sampling a video signal with a predetermined resolution inputted from the outside at an arbitrary sampling frequency and scaling the area corresponding to an enlargement scaling factor of the generated video data at an arbitrary enlargement ratio; and a controller controlling, when the input of the predetermined video display mode is received by the receiver, the sampling frequency and the enlargement ratio of scaling to enlarge the area in the video data having almost the same aspect ratio as an aspect ratio of a display panel at a rate of an integral multiple or n/2-times (n is an integer).

  • Patent number: 7688385
Abstract: According to one embodiment, an embodiment of the invention is applicable to various input video signals, prevents image quality degradation in a signal conversion process, and maintains image quality. A front stage unit has a first video signal processing circuit, which reduces noise and performs IP conversion in response to a first image processing control signal from a first control circuit. A rear stage unit has a second video signal processing circuit, which executes frame rate conversion in response to a second image processing control signal from a second control circuit. An arithmetic circuit functions so that the contents of the first image processing control signal exerts an influence upon the second image processing control signal.
