  • Patent number: 5639007
Abstract: A stapler includes a staple magazine rotably connected to an operating assembly. The operating assembly rotates around a shaft in response to pressure applied by a user to a operating handle. The staple magazine includes a plurality of staple clips capable of holding different size staples. The stapler includes means for determining a desired staple size. The staple magazine is rotated by the user to select a desired size staple. A stopper assembly, slidably mounted on a base of the stapler, is positioned by the user to limit and guide a front edge of a stack of papers being stapled. The means for determining a desired staple size and the stopper assembly are free from interference with each other. The stopper assembly is constructed so that a portion contacting the front edge of the stack of papers remains perpendicular to the front edge during a stapling operation.

  • Patent number: 5497931
Abstract: A stapler has a staple magazine with a plurality of staple clips. Each clip is designed to hold a different staple. The desired staple size is selected by rotating an indicator until a staple magazine contacts an inserted stack of paper. Once known, the desired staple clip can be selected by unlocking the staple magazine for rotation about a suspension rod until the desired clip is above an anvil. The magazine is locked, and a staple is punched therefrom. The act of locking, selecting and unlock is accomplished with only one hand.

  • Patent number: 4300928
Abstract: A structure for supporting an air filter on a carburetor, the air filter having a casing accommodating an air filtration element and a cap adapted to close the upper opening of the casing, the cap being adapted to be centered and fixed to the carburetor by a cooperation of a center bolt projecting upward from the carburetor and a butterfly nut. The supporting structure has a supporting member adapted to be fixed to the carburetor, an annular disc-shaped first resilient member connected at its inner periphery to one end of the supporting member and at its outer periphery to the casing of the air filter, and a second resilient member through which the cap of the air filter is fixed to an opposite end of the supporting member. The vibration of the casing and the cap of the air filter is avoided thanks to the first and the second resilient members which insulate the casing and the cap from the vibration caused by the engine to which the air filter is attached.

  • Patent number: 4259096
Abstract: An air cleaner element for an internal combustion engine capable of adsorbing fuel vapor and having an air cleaning filter medium and a fuel vapor adsorption filter medium containing activated carbon fibers, the filter media being partly bonded together with an adhesive into a unitary construction. Both the filter media have a large surface area so that the reduction in size of the air cleaning filter medium and the increase in size of an air cleaner case may not be needed. Furthermore the wear and abrasion of activated carbon fibers due to the vibrations may be avoided.
