Abstract: A cassette for accommodating a tape-shaped material having an electrically conductive layer has a contact piece which is disposed on one end face of a take-up reel for winding up the material and which is electrically connected to an electrically conductive layer of the material. The cassette further has a reel retainer which has a grounding contact and which is secured to a cassette casing accommodating the material, the reel retainer being brought into contact with the contact piece. An electrically conductive grease is interposed in the area of contact between the contact piece and the reel retainer. Accordingly, the surfaces of the respective contact portions of the contact piece and the reel retainer are coated with the grease and thereby prevented from being oxidized. Even if dust is generated due to wear of the contact portions, it is trapped by the grease and thereby prevented from scattering.

Abstract: A cassette for recording an image on a film which has an electrically conductive layer which is wound on a reel rotatably supported within a cassette casing includes a contact piece for grounding which is mounted on a reel body. A clamp is engaged with the reel body so as to press the film against the contact piece. The contact piece slide-contacts a reel retainer secured to the cassette casing, thereby allowing the film to be electrically connected to the reel retainer through the contact piece. The reel container is connected to a contact member which projects to the outside of the cassette casing, and this contact member is connected to a contact provided on an apparatus into which the cassette is loaded, thereby effecting grounding.
