  • Patent number: 6005435
Abstract: A high-voltage generating circuit includes a high-voltage production circuit, a high-voltage detecting circuit, and a control circuit. The high-voltage detecting circuit has a high-voltage circuit section to which a voltage of 1 kV to several tens of kilovolts is applied and a low-voltage circuit section to which a voltage of several tens of volts is applied. In the high-voltage circuit section, a parallel circuit formed of a first voltage-dividing resistor and a part of a second voltage-dividing resistor and a speed-up capacitor, and another parallel circuit formed of the remaining part of the second voltage-dividing resistor and a third voltage-dividing resistor and another speed-up capacitor are connected in series to form a two-stage parallel circuit.

  • Patent number: 5883794
Abstract: A high-voltage generating circuit includes a high-voltage production circuit, a high-voltage detecting circuit and a control circuit. The high-voltage production circuit includes clamping diodes to provide a good response for stabilizing a high voltage. The control circuit applies pulse-width control to a power source voltage. The high-voltage detecting circuit has a high-voltage circuit section to which a voltage of 1 kV to several tens of kilovolts is applied and a low-voltage circuit section to which a voltage of several tens of volts is applied. The high-voltage circuit section comprises a parallel circuit including voltage-dividing resistors and a speed-up capacitor. The speed-up capacitor is set to 1000 pF or less.

  • Patent number: 5044071
Abstract: A method of manufacturing a tape of finished electronic components in which the components project laterally from the tape and are supported on the tape by long leads of the electronic components. An electronic component set is prepared constituted by a plurality of electronic component bodies, a lead terminal member having an elongated connecting member and a plurality of groups of laterally extending lead terminals spaced at intervals along the connecting member, one group per component body. All but one of the lead terminals in each group are cut at a position to separate the lead terminals other than the one lead terminal from the connecting member. The electrical properties of the electronic bodies are then measured through the respective terminals, and then the one uncut lead terminal is cut to separate semi-finished electronic components.

  • Patent number: 4977024
Abstract: A magnesia granule having a surface covered with a continuous and uniform coating of silica or forsterite, and suitable for use as a filler. The magnesia granule is prepared by a process comprising granulating a magnesia powder into a spherical shape, heat treating the granular particles at a temperature in a range of from 1400.degree. C. to 1700.degree. C. for not more than 1 hour, and then subjecting the particles to gas-solid phase mixing with a heated vapor of an organic silicate compound in a fluidized bed reactor to cover the surface of the granular magnesia particles with a continuous and uniform coating of silica, or a process comprising granulating a magnesia powder of particles coated with a silica layer into a spherical shape, and then heat treating the granular particles at a temperature in a range of from 1400.degree. C. to 1700.degree. C. for not more than 1 hour to cover the surface of the granular particles with a continuous and uniform coating or forsterite.

  • Patent number: 4937214
Abstract: The present process is a process for preparation of crystalline grains-oriented ceramics which comprises orienting grains of ceramics raw material powder to a definite direction by applying centrifugal force on the grains and then burning the resulting grains. These ceramics are expected to be utilized, for example, as .beta.- or .beta."-alumina solid electrolytes for use in sodium-sulfur cells and as magnetic anisotropic ferrite magnets for use in small-sized motors, speakers or the like.

  • Patent number: 4789510
Abstract: A shaped, sintered magnesia article having an enhanced hydration resistance and an improved mechanical strength is produced by evenly coating fine individual magnesia particles with silica coating layers containing an organic substance in an amount of 0.01% or less in terms of carbon, based on the molar amount of silicon in the silica coating layers; by shaping the silica-coated magnesia particles into a predetermined form; and by sintering the resultant shaped silica-coated magnesia particle article at an elevated temperature to an extent such that the silica coating layers are converted to corresponding forsterite coating layers.

  • Patent number: 4766162
Abstract: Disclosed is a resin composition for sealing electronic parts, which comprises a thermosetting resin and, incorporated therein, high-purity magnesium oxide. A hydration-resistant magnesia powder having the particle surfaces covered with a continuous and uniform coating of silica is advantageously used as the magnesium oxide. This hydration-resistant magnesia powder is prepared by introducing a heated vapor of an organic silicate compound into a reactor of a fluidized bed of magnesia powder heated at 100.degree. to 600.degree. C. so that the concentration of the organic silicate compound is 1 to 20 mole %, and precipitating a coating of silica on the surfaces of magnesia particles by thermal decomposition and/or hydrolysis of the organic silicate compound on the surfaces of magnesia particles.
