  • Patent number: 6207796
Abstract: The present invention provides a production process to obtain a hydrophilic polymer, having a low residual monomer content, with good productivity while keeping the properties of a hydrogel polymer resultant from polymerization. In a drying process for a hydrogel polymer, the hydrogel polymer is dried under normal pressure at a material temperature of not higher than 90° C. until the water content of the hydrogel polymer reduces to 15˜40 weight %, and then the hydrogel polymer is kept for not shorter than 10 minutes either in a state where the change of the water content of the hydrogel polymer is within 5 weight % and where the material temperature is in the range of 70˜120° C. or in a state where the water content of the hydrogel polymer is in the range of 15˜40 weight % and where the material temperature is in the range of 70˜120° C., and then the hydrogel polymer is finish-dried.

  • Patent number: 5813943
Abstract: A control system for an automatic transmission includes: a clutch adapted to be applied when a forward running range is selected, to transmit the rotation of an engine to the transmission mechanism of a speed change unit and a hydraulic servo for applying/releasing the clutch. A control unit controls oil pressure fed to the hydraulic servo and includes: an application starting pressure detector for detecting application starting pressure at the instant when the application of the clutch is started; an initial application pressure setter for setting an initial application pressure on the basis of the detected application starting pressure; and an oil pressure regulator for adjusting the oil pressure fed to the hydraulic servo, when a change is made to a forward running range, and then gradually raising that oil pressure.

  • Patent number: 5371931
Abstract: Software and hardware such as part feeding and assembling devices constituting a production system are simplified with the use of a plurality of processing and assembly integrated units in which processing and assembling of parts are coupled and integrated in accordance with products to be produced. The necessities for an automatic warehouse and an automated ground vehicle are eliminated by getting rid of futility of mere movements of the parts. A fundamental idea is that a production system is constructed of units in which three sections--a section for processing a raw material, a check functional section and an assembling section--are integrally combined in accordance with the products to be produced. The parts are processed, checked and assembled by single units just in time while targeting molded parts of plastic and pressed parts.

  • Patent number: 5216341
Abstract: A windshield wiper control apparatus compensates for small-diameter raindrops such as a drizzle and raindrops splashed over by a preceding vehicle which may worsen the visibility of a driver even though the level of precipitation is not much and accumulatively calculates the amount of raindrops just after the wiping action of a wiper blade, thereby causing an optimized automatic wiping action to be realized. In addition, a windshield wiper control apparatus effects an automatic wiper operation without modifications and additional use of new operating switches by only adding a new control device between the conventional windshield apparatus not having any automatic wiper operation and the wiper blade driver.

  • Patent number: 4987296
Abstract: A rain sensor operates such that when a raindrop cuts off a direct light beam from a transmitter to a detector, the output level of the detector is lowered. A convex member is disposed to prevent a portion of the light emitted from the transmitter from reflecting and then reaching the detector. Thus, detecting error due to such reflected light is reduced.

  • Patent number: 4620655
Abstract: An apparatus for use in a system for mounting taped electronic parts on a predetermined portions of ceramics substrates and adapted for supplying the parts to a predetermined portion of the system. The apparatus has a slide table equipped with a tape pay-off arrangement and a tape feeding arrangement, a slide table and a power transmission interposed between a stationary table and the slide table, with the power transmission means being capable of transmitting a power to the tape feeding arrangement even during the sliding of the slide table. A switch-over device is drivingly connected to the power transmission means and is adapted for selectively transmitting the power to the tape feeding arrangement, in such a manner that both the selecting operation for selecting the part to be mounted next and the part feeding operation for feeding the part are conducted simultaneously.

  • Patent number: 4449293
Abstract: A coil winding and inserting machine suitable for winding stator coils of 3-phase multipolar motors. The machine has a plurality of independently liftable tooling blades and auxiliary plates. Three winding forms are formed simultaneously or in a predetermined sequence, each being constituted by two tooling blades and one selectively lifted auxiliary plate. Three flyers corresponding to the three winding forms are rotated around these winding forms to form coils of the first pole of respective phases. Then, the flyers make a 180.degree. indexing rotation and coils of the second pole are formed in the same manner as the coils of the first pole. After the winding of all coils, the coils are inserted into the stator core together with the wedges. Accordingly, it is possible to form the coils of u, v and w phases without cutting wires between two poles of respective phases, while ensuring an equal circumferential length of coils of all phases.

  • Patent number: 4055817
Abstract: A variable frequency oscillator comprises an oscillating loop and a variable phase shifter for imparting one of two different phase shifts depending upon the polarities of a DC control voltage to a signal from the oscillating loop. The phase-shifted signal has its amplitude controlled by the amplitude of the control voltage and is combined with the signal in the oscillating loop. The vector sum of the combined signals determines the phase angle of the oscillator signal and hence the frequency thereof.

  • Patent number: 3989926
Abstract: A thermal fixing device for a xerographic reproducing apparatus includes a thin planar resistance heating element having a low thermal mass and a high coefficient of thermal expansion. The heating element is supported in such manner that one end thereof is free to move linearly under thermal expansion to activate a heater displacement detector comprising a pivotally mounted lever arm having a right angle configuration. One end of the lever arm is received in an opening in the heating element and the other end form a contact of a normally open switch which is adapted to be closed by pivoting of the arm due to expansion of the heating element. Closure of the switch activates a power controller to interrupt the power supply to the heating element.
