  • Patent number: 4995368
Abstract: A fuel injection timing apparatus comprises a pair of weights which rotate synchronously with an engine, so that adjustment of the injection timing of a fuel injection pump is carried out by means of the movement of these weights against the biasing forces of springs. This apparatus further comprises stopper members disposed at positions corresponding to both opposed ends of the weights to be movable in the direction perpendicular to the direction of the movement of the weights, and temperature-sensitive driving devices for moving the stopper members in accordance with ambient temperatures, which are arranged to operate such that, when the engine is started, the stopper members are made to project between the pair of weights in accordance with the ambient temperatures to restrain the weights which tend to return to their initial positions by the biasing forces of the springs.

  • Patent number: 4450819
Abstract: The present invention relates to a device for adjusting the injection timing of a distribution-type fuel injection pump for internal combustion engines. In the device of the present invention in which an adjusting piston is moved responsive to the fuel pressure in the high-pressure oil chamber and the resilient force of the timer spring, and the roller ring is rotated following the movement of the adjusting piston, the improvement comprises a cylinder which is provided in addition to a cylinder that accommodates the adjusting piston, and a shaft which slides in the above cylinder separately from the adjusting piston, so that the position of the adjusting piston can be adjusted by the shaft. The device employs sliding portions that do not require strict machining precision. Further, when the fuel injection pump is to be mounted on the engine, the initial timing can be easily adjusted through manipulation effected from the outer side of the fuel injection pump.

  • Patent number: 4449504
Abstract: A distributor type fuel injection pump has an accumulator. When an internal combustion engine is in low-speed rotation or in low-load operation, the accumulator accumulates part of the fuel pressurized within a fuel compression chamber, thereby lowering the fuel injection rate. Also, the fuel injection pump is provided with compensator which operates simultaneously with the accumulator. While the injection rate is lowered by operation of the accumulator, the compensator extends the injection period to compensate for the reduction of injection quantity attributed to reduction of the injection rate.
