  • Patent number: 4708317
Abstract: The electromagnetic actuator has fixed and movable electromagnets. Each of both electromagnets has a plurality of slots formed in a substantially flat plane of a core member, and coil elements disposed in each slot so that directions of current in each slot are reversed alternately. The fixed and movable electromagnets are housed in a housing, with the respective slot-formed planes facing each other. Both electromagnets are excited at the same time, and resultant magnetic attraction or repulsion between both electromagnets causes the movable magnet to move. The movement of the movable magnet is derived by pickup means. By means of the utilization of attraction and repulsion between the electromagnets, a high speed operation can be achieved.

  • Patent number: 4707927
Abstract: A sensor includes a common electrode, and a plurality of detecting electrodes which are electrically independent from each other. The common electrode has a spherical shape. The detecting electrodes are arranged oppositely to the common electrode so as to form a spherical space between the common electrode and them. In the spherical space, a viscous fluid is housed so as to permit it to move freely therein. The viscous fluid moves according to the direction and angle of inclination or the direction and size of acceleration. By means of the movement of the viscous fluid, electrostatic capacity between the common electrode and each detecting electrode varies. The electrostatic capacity of each detecting electrode is detected by a detecting apparatus.

  • Patent number: 4674461
Abstract: A unit injector for an internal combustion engine has a solenoid valve for closing a fuel overflow passage to determine the injection timing and the injection quantity. A pumping plunger has its outer peripheral surface formed with first and second longitudinal slits both communicating with the plunger chamber, and a circumferentially extending suction slit communicating with the first longitudinal slit and registrable with a fuel intake passage when the plunger is in an extreme position remote from the plunger chamber. The plunger can assume selectively a normal operating position, a starting position, and an emergency stopping position, at respective different circumferential positions thereof. In the normal operating position, the plunger chamber communicates with the fuel intake passage through alignment of the first longitudinal slit or the suction slit with the fuel intake passage, and also communicated and with the fuel overflow passage via the second longitudinal slit.

  • Patent number: 4626621
Abstract: A circuit for generating a position signal has a detector having a detecting coil whose inductance varies in accordance with the position of an object which generates a first pulse response signal relating to the inductance of the detecting coil in response to the pulse signal, another detector having a constant inductance coil which generates a second pulse response signal relating to the inductance of the constant inductance coil in response to the pulse signal, and a circuit for producing a digital signal showing the ratio of the inductances of the detecting coil and the constant inductance coil as position data in response to at least the first and the second pulse response signals. The position signal can be directly obtained in digital form and the change in the inductances due to temperature change can be canceled out to obtain position data with high accuracy.

  • Patent number: 4566068
Abstract: In a characteristic signal generator for producing a characteristic signal determined from a characteristic curve for the maximum amount of fuel to be injected into an internal combustion engine from an electronically controlled fuel injection pump, the generator has a memory in which a plurality of sets of characteristic data each representing a characteristic curve for the maximum amount of fuel to be injected are stored, and the necessary data is read out from the memory in response to the data relating to the engine speed at each instant.

  • Patent number: 4497294
Abstract: An electronically controlled governor for Diesel engines, having a computing circuit responsive to at least one signal indicative of an operating condition of the Diesel engine at each instant for computing positional data showing a target position of a fuel adjusting member for obtaining an amount of fuel injection corresponding to the operating condition and a correcting circuit for effecting a data correcting operation on the positional data in accordance with predetermined correction formulae. The coefficients in said data correction formulae are determined in accordance with the detected operating condition of the Diesel engine. Since the coefficients for correcting the control characteristic can be continuously changed in response to the operating condition of the engine, a stable and highly responsive governor characteristic can be realized without the use of a complicated circuit arrangement.
