  • Patent number: 6475948
Abstract: An object of the present invention is to provide an ammoxidation reaction catalyst composed of an Sb—Re compound oxide with which ammoxidation into an unsaturated nitrile such as methacrylonitrile or the like can be performed in the presence of a molecular oxygen-containing gas and ammonia, and a method for manufacturing an unsaturated nitrile such as methacrylonitrile or the like from an aliphatic hydrocarbon such as isobutylene, isobutane or the like using this ammoxidation reaction catalyst. An unsaturated nitrile such as methacrylonitrile or the like is manufactured by subjecting an aliphatic hydrocarbon such as isobutylene, isobutane or the like to vapor phase contact ammoxidation with ammonia and a molecular oxygen-containing gas in the presence of an ammoxidation reaction catalyst composed of an Sb—Re compound oxide such as SbRe2O6 or the like.

  • Patent number: 6403841
Abstract: An object of the present invention is to provide a catalyst for a lower alcohol oxidation reaction which makes possible to manufacture a partial oxide of a lower alcohol such as dimethoxymethane or the like selectively and efficiently by direct oxidation of a lower alcohol such as methanol or the like, and to provide a method for manufacturing a partial oxide of a lower alcohol such as dimethoxymethane or the like selectively and efficiently from a lower alcohol such as methanol or the like by using this catalyst for a lower alcohol oxidation reaction. A partial oxide of a lower alcohol such as dimethoxymethane or the like is manufactured by subjecting a lower alcohol to vapor phase contact oxidation with a molecular oxygen-containing gas in the presence of an oxidation reaction catalyst for a lower alcohol composed of a rhenium-antimony compound oxide such as SbRe2O6 or the like. When the vapor phase contact oxidation is conducted, in particular, at a temperature of 300 to 400° C.

  • Patent number: 5864051
Abstract: A catalyst for the selective oxidation of alkanes and alkenes has been developed. The catalyst consists of a noble metal component such as platinum and a SbOx component. A unique feature of the catalyst is that the noble metal component is present as particles of which from about 1 to about 30 mole % of each particle is in the form of a noble metal/Sb alloy. Optionally a modifier and/or a refractory inorganic oxide may also be added to the catalyst. A process for preparing the catalyst is also presented.
