    Abstract: The sensitive coordinate input device of the present invention adopts a system in which the finger F of the operator is regarded as one electrode, and the electrostatic capacitance is varied depending on the changes in the distances between the finger and another electrode which is separated therefrom via a dielectric. Four electrodes are preferably disposed at regular angular positions. Among the four electrodes, two electrodes, and two electrodes which are located at opposite positions are spaced at intervals, respectively. Across the four electrodes, a sensitive member 15 is laid. The surface of the sensitive member is to be touched with the operator's finger F. The sensitive member is preferably formed by a dielectric having a high dielectric constant, such as a ceramic plate. According to the present invention, the area of sensitive area can easily be increased, and the determination of the cursor position on the screen of the CRT display apparatus can readily be performed.

    Abstract: The coordinate input device of the present invention can output a coordinate signal by using a change in a variation amount of an electrostatic capacity. Therefore, mechanical portions of the coordinate input device are reduced in number so that an increase in the life period and an improvement in reliability of the device are easily realized, while not wastefully consuming power, except during a period when the coordinate signal is outputted. The coordinate input device of the present invention outputs the coordinate signal on the basis of a variation amount of an electrostatic capacity which is defined by the position of a dielectric unit between electrode faces and an electrode face confronting these electrode faces. The dielectric unit moves in accordance with the movement of an operation knob. A program mode changeover switch is operated in accordance with the movement of a movable unit which can reciprocate together with the operation knob.

    Abstract: A multi-pole connector having a slider adapted to be moved, by the tip of a card inserted into the connector, from a first position where the slider supports contacts of contact pieces disposed side by side in the housing of the connector, to a second position where the slider is located rearward of the contacts is related. When the slider is moved between the first position and the second position with the card tip coming in contact with the slider, the contacts are slidingly transferred between the external contact pieces of the card and the contact supporting surfaces of the slider which are set at the same levels or substantially at the same levels as those of the external contact pieces. When the slider is moved from the first position to the second position or when the slider is located in the second position, the card is locked to the slider by the engagement pieces which are swung as supported by guide surfaces formed in the housing.

The electrical connector has a frame to which attached are a rear structure having a card inserting/pulling port and a connector body having a contact group. Also attached to the frame are a longitudinally movable slider and a shaft having a swing fulcrum. The slider has engagement pawls adapted to be engaged with a card, and the shaft has an operating knob having a card holding portion. When the slider advances with the insertion of a card, the shaft is swung so that the operating knob is pushed out and the holding portion comes in contact with the rear end surface of the card, thereby to prevent the card from being erroneously pulled out.

The pushing mechanisms may be formed by, for example, levers rotatable between first positions where the levers cross the pushing plate immediately above the same and second positions where the levers do not cross the pushing plate.

In the connector, a movable member is mounted which causes a contact of the card to be resiliently contacted by a contact of a contactor portion connected to the main printed circuit board when the card is inserted a specified degree, and which causes the contact of the contactor portion to move away from the card a distance greater than the thickness of the card when the card is withdrawn. This arrangement involves no troublesome operation in connection with the expansion and contraction control of the contactor portion and can effectively prevent possible wear and deterioration of the contacts.
