    Abstract: This invention is aimed at conferring a lasting water-repelling property, durability, and weatherability on a substrate without forcing fastidious selection of a substrate to be used. The object is accomplished by providing a long-term general-purpose water repellant, having the three ingredients thereof, ie an emulsion of zirconium oxide, a liquid paraffin, and an emulsion of polyvinyl acetate resin, mixed sequentially at a ratio of 1:4:1 or a ratio approximating it.
