  • Patent number: 5795141
Abstract: A scroll type compressor comprises a housing and a fixed scroll. A movable scroll is incorporated therebetween, eccentrically engaging with the fixed scroll, and has a rotating center and a revolving center. Pin members are arranged on the end plate of the movable scroll and on the housing. At least one of the pin members of the movable scroll is positioned on a first line and disposed downstream of the corresponding pin member of the housing in the rotating direction, when the volume ratio of a compression chamber is from 10 to 22 percent of the volume of the compression chamber at the time of the conclusion of the suction of medium. The first line passes through the rotating center and is perpendicular to a second line, which passes through the rotating and revolving centers. The compressor also has annular ring members, which contact at least a pair of the pin members of the movable scroll and the housing, to prevent the movable scroll from rotating.

  • Patent number: 5634363
Abstract: In a bending type mechanical descaling method, streak-like scales remain, which cause a die seizure in the subsequent drawing process. In the present invention, there is provided a quite new mechanical descaling technique capable of eliminating such streak-like scales. The new mechanical descaling method includes the step of passing a metal wire through a torsion generating portion for forcibly turning the metal wire around the axial center thereof while running the metal wire, thereby removing scales due to a difference in toughness between the metal wire and scales.

  • Patent number: 5575866
Abstract: Disclosed are a steel wire rod for manufacturing a fine steel wire excellent in drawability, strength and toughness in which the contents of components such as C, Si, Mn, P, S, Al, Cu are specified, the contents of one or more of elements selected from a group consisting of Cr, W, Ni and Mo are also specified, and in which the balance is essentially Fe and inevitable impurities and for which, the composition of non-metallic inclusions of oxides is also specified; a fine steel wire obtained by drawing of the steel wire rod; and a twisted wire cord made by twisting of the fine steel wires. Further, disclosed is a die schedule for manufacturing the above fine steel wire. Thus, there can be provided a steel wire rod with excellent drawability and which does not break during drawing; a fine steel wire excellent in strength and toughness obtained from the steel wire rod; and a twisted wire cord obtained by twisting together lengths of the fine steel wires.

  • Patent number: 5547353
Abstract: A scroll type compressor includes a front housing, a fixed scroll, a movable scroll and a rear housing, and its lateral cross section has a substantially oval shape. The spiral element of the movable scroll is located in the space defined by the front housing and the fixed scroll in such a way as to engage with the spiral element of the fixed scroll. The space defined by the fixed scroll and the rear housing serves as a discharge chamber where compressed refrigerant gas is discharged. Since this compressor has the same compression displacement as that of a compressor having a circular cross section, this compressor can be placed in narrow space whose width is less than the width of the circular compressor, without any reduction in the cooling performance.

  • Patent number: 5542829
Abstract: A self-rotation blocking mechanism in a scroll compressor having a movable scroll member and fixed scroll member fixed to a casing. The mechanism is constructed of circumferentially spaced opposing pairs of pins 9 and 10, which are connected to an end plate 12 of the movable scroll member 2 and a faced end wall of the casing 4, respectively, and which are in a side-by-side contacting relationship. The circumferential arrangement of the pins is such that, at every angular position of the movable scroll member, there exists at least one pair of the pins which generates a force in a direction opposite to a self-rotating torque applied to the movable scroll member caused by the compression reaction force. A locally concentrated arrangement of the pairs of the pins for generating such a force can be employed at the angular position which produces a larger value of self-rotating torque.

  • Patent number: 5249940
Abstract: In a scroll compressor, the moving scroll member is engaged with the stationary scroll member while centrally offset from each other so that they define an actuation chamber between them. When driven by the crank of the compressor shaft and blocked against rotation by the rotation restricting plate, the moving scroll member revolves to compress the fluid in the actuation chamber, and because of the relationship between the compression reaction force and the driving force, a moment is produced to incline the moving scroll member, so that the moving scroll member rises at a portion of the thrust bearing plate, the contact pressure between the scroll members is increased, and a larger driving force is required. Accordingly, the attraction force of the magnet and magnetic body is utilized to press the moving scroll member against the thrust bearing plate. This force can be generated due to the attracting force or repulsing force between magnets, or by the force of a spring.

  • Patent number: 4029524
Abstract: A heat treating process for a rod by the use of a fluidized bed consisting of alumina, silicon sand, zircon sand, and the like, is disclosed for adjusting the strength of the rod due to its cooling within the fluidized bed. While prior art heat treatment processes of this type adopt an attempt to vary the temperature of the fluidized bed for varying the cooling rate of the rod, such results in the need to use costly heat-resisting apparatus for the fluidized bed and equipment associated therewith. In accordance with the heat treatment process of the present invention, a rod is introduced through means of an inlet opening into the fluidized bed, and subsequently, the rod passes through the fluidized bed in an upwardly inclined manner so as to exit from the surface of the bed. The fluidized bed in this case has a predetermined length and the rod is fed at a predetermined speed.
