  • Publication number: 20060188911
Abstract: A genetic testing method for specifically amplifying a DNA complementary to a target nucleic acid existing in a biologic sample, measuring the amplified DNA, and generating diagnosis support information on the basis of a measurement result is described that includes steps of: (a) specifically amplifying a DNA complementary to an internal standard nucleic acid by using a known amount of the internal standard nucleic acid in the absence of the biologic sample component, and obtaining a first measurement result on the basis of the amplification, wherein the DNA has a property to be specifically amplified in the presence of the biologic sample component; (b) specifically amplifying the DNA complementary to the target nucleic acid in the presence of the biologic sample component, and obtaining a second measurement result on the basis of the amplification; and (c) comparing the first and second measurement results to obtain diagnosis support information.

  • Publication number: 20060121515
Abstract: A treatment solution for preparing a sample solution for nucleic acid amplification reaction is described. The treatment solution comprises dimethyl sulfoxide and aqueous solvent. The sample solution prepared by treating a biological sample with the treatment solution is used in the amplification reaction of a nucleic acid, whereby the nucleic acid can be efficiently recovered from a biological sample, and the influence of an inhibitor during nucleic acid amplification can be effectively reduced.

  • Publication number: 20060123505
Abstract: Full-length cDNAs of plants and their uses are provided. Source plants are preferably monocot plants, more preferably poaceous plants, and most preferably rice. Vectors carrying said cDNAs and transformants containing said cDNAs or said vectors, transgenic plants containing said transformants, polypeptides encoded by said cDNAs are also provided. The full-length cDNA clones play important roles in the annotation of correct gene coding region, determination of exons and introns, comprehensive expression analysis on the transcription level and proteome analysis. Furthermore, full-length cDNA clones are industrially useful in producing plants having different properties from those of the wild type due to the inhibition of expression and functional suppression in plant bodies.

  • Patent number: 6177911
Abstract: A narrow and light mobile radio antenna that requires convenient supporting metal fittings provided in a base station is provided. An inner conductor of a coaxial feed line extends upward by a length of ¼ wavelength from the upper end of an outer conductor. This extended inner conductor forms an antenna element. Outside the coaxial feed line, a ¼-wavelength sleeve-like metal pipe made of brass is located with one end connected to the upper end of the outer conductor. On a part of the inner surface of the open end of the metal pipe, an internal thread is formed by tapping. In the open end of the metal pipe, an insulating spacer having an external thread formed around its periphery is inserted. In other words, the insulating spacer is located between the inner wall of the metal pipe and the outer conductor of the coaxial feed line. At the lower end of the coaxial feed line, a coaxial connector for connection with an external circuit is provided.
