  • Patent number: 7004654
Abstract: A tape printer for securing a time period sufficient for processing printing data even if the rpm of a DC motor increases, when an encoder is used for detecting rotation of the DC motor. When the DC motor does not rotate at a constant speed, in principle, the encoder detects an amount of rotation of the DC motor. Accordingly, a thermal head is driven for printing, every time a predetermined angle of rotation is sensed. On the other hand, when the DC motor rotates at a constant speed, the thermal head is driven for printing at constant intervals.

  • Patent number: 6970066
Abstract: A memory card reading/writing apparatus, access method, program and storage medium thereof, that have a psychological security function, or in other words a mild security function and that make it possible to perform various kinds of management of the memory card even when the memory card is lost. In the memory card reading/writing apparatus of this invention, an apparatus-user-information-acquisition unit acquires apparatus-user information from a memory unit that stores apparatus-user information that identifies the user of the memory card reading/writing apparatus. Also, a memory-card-user-information-acquisition unit acquires the main-memory-card-user information from the memory card that identifies the main user of the memory card. A user-information-comparison unit compares the two kinds of information, and outputs a comparison result. An output unit outputs specific output based on the comparison result.

  • Patent number: 6874962
Abstract: A tape printer that prevents shifting of a printed dot due to a reverse rotation caused by the DC motor stop when power supply to a DC motor is resumed. When the power supply to the DC motor is suspended, the DC motor often rotates in a reverse direction immediately before rotation of the motor stops. The amount of reverse rotation is detected by an encoder. This amount is compensated immediately after the power supply to the DC motor is resumed. After the amount of forward rotation identical to the amount of reverse rotation amount is detected, printing is resumed by the printing head.

  • Patent number: 5264947
Abstract: To provide a device which can easily copy an image within a limited area of an original. A reading window is defined in a lower projecting portion of a housing which is L-shaped in side elevation, providing a visual recognition member. The visual recognition member allows the user to visually recognize the image to be copied over which the housing is placed. When a start button is depressed, a sensor is reciprocally moved by a wire. An image read by the sensor is printed on a tape by a print head. The printed head tape is fed by a tape feed roller operatively coupled by a gear train to a motor which also drives the wire through a gear train.
