  • Patent number: 6198542
Abstract: A network control system and method that outputs documents and figures from an image forming apparatus based on an image forming condition as provided by a computer. An operation panel is configured to prepare an indication as to how the image will be prepared. A memory holds display information representative of an appearance of the operation panel, and a network server holds respective display information for each candidate image forming device connected to the network. A computer is connected to the image forming apparatus via a network and displays the display information representative of the appearance of the operation panel. Any one of the image forming apparatus on the network may be selected by the computer when issuing a print instruction from the computer. The image forming apparatus selected by the computer transmits display information towards the computer (perhaps by way of the server), by retrieving the display information from memory.

  • Patent number: 5602651
Abstract: The present invention provides an image recording apparatus including a document size detection sensor 103 for recognizing a size of an image to be recorded. An image input section 101 reads and stores therein the image to be recorded, and a paper feeder stores therein and feeding recording paper having a specified size. An image forming section 108 forms an image on recording paper fed from the paper feeder. An image processing section 106 divides a read image into two portions based on a result of detection by the document size detection sensor 103 when a size of the image to be recorded is larger than recording paper having a specified size and executes image processing for displacing a central position of each image so that an edge section of each image will be aligned to an edge of a binding space of each discrete sheet of recording paper. One of the image portions may further be inverted. An image output section 107 outputs an image processed by the image processing section 108.

  • Patent number: 4286865
Abstract: An improved electrophotographic copying apparatus is described, which permits, during automatic copying of a desired number of copies from the same original document, the setting of the number of repeated uses of the same latent electrostatic image, thus obviating the lowering and unevenness of image quality of the copies. In another embodiment of the improved electrophotographic copying apparatus, the timing of the formation of successive latent images of the same original document is controlled in accordance with the total number of copies to be made of the same original document so that the number of repeated uses of each respective latent image is made approximately equal. Also, in the latter embodiment, a signal indicating the timing for the exchange of successive original documents is generated at the time of formation of the last electrostatic image from the prior original document.
