  • Publication number: 20140036300
Abstract: This invention provides an image forming apparatus capable of reliably printing security information even when image data of an original document that is obtained by a reading unit contains security information and an area where the security information is not contained is set as a print area, and a control method thereof. To accomplish this, when image data of an original document contains security information, the image forming apparatus extracts image the security information from data, and sets a print target area from an area indicated by the image data of the original document. When an area corresponding to, from which the security information is extracted, is not contained in the set print target area, the image forming apparatus executes printing using the extracted image data corresponding to the security information, and the image data corresponding to the print target area.

  • Patent number: 8606047
Abstract: An image processing apparatus that receives an image from a scanner capable of optical scaling is provided by the present invention. It has an image scaling unit for performing digital scaling of a received image, and an information detecting unit for detecting encoded information from the received image. Unless the scaling factor is that suitable for optical scaling, the received image undergoes the digital scaling instead of the optical scaling. Before the received image undergoes the digital scaling, the information detecting unit detects the encoded information from the received image. The scaling using the image reading device capable of optical scaling enables more accurate analysis of the encoded information embedded in a source document.

  • Patent number: 8600287
Abstract: There is a disclosure of a system which controls a folding unit performing folding processing to one set of sheets supplied by a print unit. The one set of sheets includes sheets of a first size and/or a second size which is smaller than the first size. The system includes a first controller and second controller. When the one set of sheets includes a sheet of the first size, the first controller inhibits the folding processing to a sheet of the second size. When the one set of sheets does not include a sheet of the first size but includes a sheet of the second size, the second controller permits the folding processing to a sheet of the second size.

  • Patent number: 8581673
Abstract: In a circuit module in which a plurality of non-reciprocal circuit elements, each of which does not have a yoke, are mounted, the occurrence of magnetic coupling between the non-reciprocal circuit elements is significantly reduced and prevented. Core isolators are not arranged such that, in a state in which the direction of magnetic flux and the direction of magnetic flux are the same, the core isolators are aligned in the direction of the magnetic flux. Specifically, the core isolators generate the magnetic flux from left to right. The core isolators are aligned so as to be inclined relative to the magnetic flux. Thus, extension of the magnetic flux through the core isolator in a state of being directed in the same direction as that of the magnetic flux is significantly reduced and prevented.

  • Patent number: 8525610
Abstract: An electronic component is mounted on a substrate so as to be in contact with a non-reciprocal circuit element. Therefore, there is no risk of the electronic component, which is arranged so as to be in contact with the non-reciprocal circuit element, being displaced as a result of being shifted by the magnetic force of permanent magnets included in the non-reciprocal circuit element and displacement of the electronic component as a result of being shifted by the magnetic force of the permanent magnets can be prevented. Therefore, since there is no risk of the electronic component being displaced by being shifted by the magnetic force of the permanent magnets, a space in which to mount a member that would function as an electromagnetic shield, such as a yoke, need not be provided on the substrate and the composite electronic module can be reduced in size and profile.
