  • Patent number: 6492058
Abstract: The battery pack houses a protection circuit along with a rechargeable cell in a case. The protection circuit is provided with switching devices to control current flow in the rechargeable cell, and a control circuit to control the switching devices. The protection circuit is molded in a single package with insulating material to make a one-package unit. The one-package unit is retained in a holding space in an insulating holder. The one-package unit, insulating holder, and rechargeable cell are held in the case.

  • Patent number: 6432575
Abstract: The battery pack of the present invention connects a terminal holder to a cell. The cell is sealed air-tight at its connection between a sheathing case and a sealing plate. The sealing plate has a terminal protruding from its surface. The terminal holder is made of an insulating material and provides a storage space adjacent to the sealing plate for storing a protective component. The protective component is provided in the storage space between the terminal holder and the sealing plate. The protective component is placed in the storage space provided between the terminal holder and the sealing plate except for the terminal location, and its bottom surface level is positioned under the top surface level of the terminal.

  • Patent number: 5201362
Abstract: A method of continuously casting a thin strip by pressing a pair of side walls to both side surfaces of a pair of rotating cooling drums to form a metal bath and rotating said cooling drums so as to cool a molten metal inside the metal bath and to continuously cast the thin strip, comprising the steps of pressing the side walls, which are pre-heated before the start of casting of the thin strip, to the end surface of the rotating cooling drums at a predetermined surface pressure so as to apply deformation corresponding to the shape of the end surfaces of the cooling drums to the side walls, casting under lowered press surface pressure conditions to form a necessary sliding surface required for stable casting, moving the side walls to the positions at which a wear quantity of the sliding surfaces of the side walls reach a target value, and continue casting while maintaining said positions.
