  • Patent number: 4758254
Abstract: This invention provides a pneumatic system moisture-removal apparatus wherein an end surface of an absorbent body is formed as a conical shape. The apparatus includes an end plate approximately perpendicular to the axial direction of the absorbent body fixed on the top portion of the end surface of the cone. A narrow space is located between the end plate and the conical-shaped end surface which serves as a passageway for compressed air. Compressed air is supplied to the apparatus from an outside circumference of the absorbent body to the center in a radial direction. The moisture-removal apparatus includes a honeycomb-type cylindrical absorbent body having a plurality of apertures. Compressed air is communicated into one end surface of the absorbent body in an axial direction. Moisture is extracted as the air passes through the apertures and is discharged from the opposite end surface of the absorbent body.

  • Patent number: 4756669
Abstract: An air compressor pressure adjustment device designed such that any values between two set points are determined and used as first and second standard values. When the air pressure in the reservoir decreases to the first standard value the air compressor is driven at a low speed. When the air pressure increases in the reservoir and reaches an upper limit set point the compressor is turned off. When this air pressure decreases to less than the lower limit set point, the air compressor is started once more.

  • Patent number: 4721515
Abstract: This invention relates to a novel electronic system for controlling a twin-type of air dryer arrangement. Normally, the adsorption elements (DR1) and (DR2) change over their adsorptive and regenerative cycles alternately by an "ON" signal produced by a governor (GO). In addition, in case that the compressor works continuously for a long period of time, the adsorptive and regenerative cycles are changed over whenever a predeterined time elapses. Thus, it is possible to make the entire air dryer more compact, to have less changeover operation and to use the relevant devices for much longer time.

  • Patent number: 4696626
Abstract: A compact, balanced and lightweight air compressor unit for a railroad vehicle which includes a motor-driven compressor, a suction strainer and suction silencer. The compressor and motor are interconnected by an intermediate hollow flanged mounting member which has a cross-sectional dimension that is smaller than the cross-sectional dimension of the motor and compressor. The suction strainer is located in a space between the motor and compressor and is attached to one side of the intermediate hollow mounting member while the suction silencer is located in a space between the motor and compressor and is attached to the other side of the intermediate hollow mounting member to form a substantially balanced structure which is suspended to the underside of the floor of the railroad vehicle by a plurality of resilient bumper connectors.

  • Patent number: 4361425
Abstract: A dehumidifier for use in a compressed air system between an air compressor and a storage reservoir for removing moisture from the compressed air supplied to the storage reservoir. The dehumidifier is provided with a moisture-collecting chamber connected to a conventional drain valve which operates automatically periodically for draining the moisture from the moisture-collecting chamber. A high speed fan is installed adjacent the moisture-collecting chamber for subjecting the compressed air passing therethrough to centrifugal force, thereby removing moisture and other foreign particles contained in the compressed air, such moisture being forced by gravity to the bottom of the collecting chamber.
