  • Publication number: 20080095444
Abstract: A character recognition device recognizing characters with low power consumption includes a data input unit for entering handwriting data representing a character to be recognized, a character recognition dictionary storing character recognition information required for character recognition as well as operating frequency information concerning the operating frequency of the character recognition device that is set in connection with the recognition processing, a character recognition processing unit recognizing the character based on the handwriting data and the character recognition information, a recognition result output unit which outputs the character recognized by the character recognition processing unit, and a power management unit changing the operating frequency of the character recognition processing unit based on the operating frequency information stored in the character recognition dictionary.

  • Publication number: 20040012558
Abstract: An auxiliary input device includes an input section having a predetermined contact surface such as a tablet for inputting writing information about a position in which a writing medium is brought into contact with the predetermined contact surface, and a character recognition means for performing character recognition based on the writing information to provide a character recognition result. The auxiliary input device further includes a connection section connectable to an external device such as a portable telephone for sending the top-ranked candidate character of the character recognition result provided from the character recognition means as sending information to the external device when the connection section is connected to the external device.

  • Patent number: 5623630
Abstract: A data processor is configured so that a mismatching does not occur between inputted or outputted data and data stored in a cache buffer region even when data is inputted or outputted by an application program to/from a block type device by bypassing the cache buffer region. A mismatched state eliminating unit is provided for copying data between the buffer for the application program to eliminate the mismatching when the mismatching results between the actually inputted or outputted data and the data stored in the cache buffer region. A selection condition holding unit is provided for holding a selection condition which determines whether or not to bypass the cache buffer region. An arbitrary value can be set in the selection condition holding unit by the application program. The block type device may comprise a flexible disk unit, a hard disk unit, or an optomagnetic disk unit.
